First Break of the Day

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

After a frantic first level where 11 players were eliminated, everyone is in need of a 15-minute break. We'll have updated chip counts in just a few minutes.

Ryan Yu Eliminated in 20th Place (AU$40,000)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ryan Yu - 20th Place
Ryan Yu - 20th Place

In the last hand before the break, a short-stacked Ryan Yu shoved for his last 124,000 from the cutoff and Grant Levy thought for a few moments before calling from the big blind.

Yu: {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Levy: {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

It was a bad spot for Yu, and it got even worse when the flop came down {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} to give Levy two pair. The {8-Hearts} turn kept Yu drawing live as a ten would give him a winning straight, but instead it was the {J-Diamonds} river giving Levy a full house.

Yu exited in 20th place and marked the 11th elimination from Level 10.

Michael Addamo Eliminated in 22nd Place (AU$40,000)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Michael Addamo - 22nd Place
Michael Addamo - 22nd Place

In the penultimate hand before the break, Michael Addamo opened for a raise from the hijack and received calls from Ami Barer and Sarkiss Osalian in the small and big blinds respectively. Two checks on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop saw Addamo continuation-bet (we're not quite sure how much), and both Barer and Osalian called.

When the {7-Spades} appeared on the turn, Barer checked and Osalian opted to lead out for 100,000. Addamo called, Barer folded, and the {8-Spades} completed the board on the river. Osalian checked, Addamo shoved all in for roughly 450,000, and Osalian called with the {a-Spades}{7-Spades} for aces and sevens. It was good as Addamo took a shot with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw.

With that, Addamo hit the rail in 22nd place for AU$40,000.

Tony Hachem Eliminated in 22nd Place (AU$40,000)

Tony Hachem - 22nd Place
Tony Hachem - 22nd Place

On the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, Tony Hachem was all in with the {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Unfortunately for him, "The Hash" was up against the {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} for Alex Lynskey.

The {K-Spades} turn and {J-Diamonds} river kept Lynskey in the lead, and he sent Hachem out the door in 22nd place. For his finish, Hachem earned AU$40,000.

Phil Ivey Eliminated in 23rd Place (AU$40,000)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Anthony Legg has a story to tell for a long while after he eliminated Phil Ivey from the Aussie Millions Main Event.

Ivey raised to 26,000 from the button and called after Legg three-bet to 63,000 from the small blind. The flop came {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Legg continued for 79,000 and set Ivey all in after he raised. Call.

Legg: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw.
Ivey: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for top pair and second nut flush draw.

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to make Legg a flush.

Big Double for the Defending Champ

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We missed the exact amount, but we do know Ryan Yu opened from the cutoff and Ami Barer three-bet from the cutoff. The button and blinds all folded, and the Yu pushed back with a four-bet to roughly 150,000. Not to be outdone, Barer five-bet to 263,000 and then called off for 717,000 after Yu six-bet shoved.

Barer: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Yu: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Barer was looking to avoid any tomfoolery, and he did so on the {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop. The {2-Hearts} turn was dangerous as Yu picked up a flush draw, but Barer managed to avoid it as the {9-Spades} safely peeled off on the river. It was a big double for the reigning champ, and a title defense could very well be in the cards.

Levy is Full of Heart

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

With around 120,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades}, action exploded between Grant Levy and Michael Addamo. The former ended up getting his last 225,000 all in and was looking for a heart.

Levy: {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Addamo: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The {K-Clubs} turn left Levy wanting, but the {8-Hearts} river did not.

"Yes," Levy quietly celebrated before retaking his seat and being pushed the pot.

Chen Folds River

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

It's not been a good start to the day for Andrew Chen. The popular Canadian had dropped down to 388,000 after folding on the river to Richard Lyndaker.

He was in the big blind and called a cutoff raise from Lyndaker. The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Lyndaker bet 37,000, 108,000 and shoved the river. Chen managed to call the first two bullets but folded pretty quickly on the river.
