Andras Nemeth Dominates Day 1
Andras Nemeth Dominates Day 1

The inaugural $25,000 High Roller Pot Limit Omaha event at the Aussie Millions proved very popular today as 67 players turned up to play the four card game. At the end of the day only 16 remained.

After 12 levels of play, Andras Nemeth bagged the chip lead, with a mammoth 518,500 in chips. A long way back are David Lim (361,000) and Farid Jattin (284,000) who round out the top three.

Nemeth had an exceptional day, securing the chip lead early in proceedings, before never looking back. His biggest hand came when he eliminated both Jan Collado Fernandez and David Wang in the same hand after the three players committed their chips in pre-flop. A golden river card gave Nemeth and unbeatable straight which would rocket him to over 300,000, a number most players wouldn't see themselves the entire day.

Other notables to progress through include; local pros Jarryd Godena (220,500), Sam Higgs (179,500) and Daniel Laidlaw (160,000) as well as a large international contingent featuring Tobias Ziegler (280,000), Rory Rees Brennan (227,000), Alex Foxen (206,000), Daniel Demicki (155,000) Anton Morgenstern (150,000), Takashi Ogura (133,500) and Matthew Wantman (131,500).

Some player who tried there luck once today but didn't progress include; Johannes Becker, Jason Gray, Jan Larsson, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Kahle Burns, Manig Loeser and Jarred Graham.

The tournament also allowed for one re-entry and several players tried their luck twice without progressing including; Michael Gu, David Wang, Cary Katz, Connor Drinan, Dominik Nitsche and Andy Lee.
