2019 Aussie Millions Main Event

The 2019 Aussie Millions has already crossed the half-way mark and the highlight of the festival in the biggest casino complex of the Southern hemisphere shapes up to be one of the biggest in its history. After the first of three starting days, the A$10,600 Main Event has already attracted 165 entries in the first flight with 79 players bagging up in the early morning hours, and Day 1b kicks off at 12:30 p.m. local time at the Crown Casino in Melbourne.

Defending champion Toby Lewis delivered the shuffle up and deal the previous day and the Brit is expected to join the action in one of the remaining two starting days. Frenchman Paul-Francois Tedeschi leads the field thus far with 195,400 after running hot in the final levels on Day 1a and he set the pace for everyone. Will anyone be able to turn the 30,000 starting stack into even more throughout Day 1b?

A total of seven 90-minute levels are scheduled for today with a 15-minute break after each level and a 75-minute dinner break at the end of the fourth level of play. All those that already busted on Day 1a won't be allowed to re-enter, as the Aussie Millions Main Event remains one of the few major events to remain a freezeout.

The registration is available until the end of the first level on Day 2 on Wednesday, January 30.

Rettenmaier Loses a Small One

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Marvin Rettenmaier has been spotted in the upper tournament area and was immediately involved in three-way action. On the {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, action checked to Rettenmaier on the button and he made it 425 to go. Only the big blind called and the {8-Spades} turn went check, check. On the {Q-Diamonds} river, the big blind made it 1,100 to go and Rettenmaier reluctantly folded.

Karita Chips Up

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

There has been some early action over on table 27 with Jan Suchanek involved, and the biggest pot so far went to Shoshiro Karita. It was without a showdown, as he bet the {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} river for 2,000 into a pot of 4,050. His sole remaining opponent folded and Karita claimed the pot.

Then it was up to Suchanek, who bet the {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} turn for 300 and Nauvneel Kashyap check-called. On the {4-Hearts} river, Kashyap made it 650 to go and Suchanek folded.

Doria and Sitbon Chop With a Full

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

On the river of a board {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, [Removed:415] on the button had bet 3,600 and Julien Sitbon in middle position check-raised to 10,600. Doria glanced at his opponent, sighed and said "do you have aces?" without getting any reply.

The call of Doria followed and Sitbon tabled {A-Spades}{10-Spades}, Doria had {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the equally strong full house. While Doria is up early in chips, Sitbon is down by as many chips.
