Ajez Leaves Attenborough Short; Attenborough Out Next Hand
Action was picked up by PokerNews on a board of J♣10♣K♦3♥6♦, where Tristan Wade was already in the tank, facing a jam from Adrian Attenborough of 111,500, with Najeem Ajez on the button still to act.
After another three minutes, the clock was called on Wade. He used his full allotment of 30 seconds before tossing his cards into the muck.
Ajez snap-called, turning over A♦Q♦. Attenborough tabled his 9♥9♠, which was no good against the flopped broadway of Ajez, who doubled up to just over 300,000.
"If only you knew what I folded," remarked Wade after the hand, telling the table that he'd folded a set.
In the following hand, Attenborough got his remaining 15,000 in the middle pre-flop holding A♣J♥ against the A♦10♠ of Gary Fisher. The flop of 8♥9♠J♣ left Fisher open-ended. The 2♦ river provided Fisher no help, but the 7♣ sent Attenborough to the rail.
