Kenta Ito opened to 250,000 from under the gun and was called by Chester Swords in the small blind and Jaxon Byrne in the big blind for a three-way pot.
Action checked to Ito, who continued for 225,000 on the 2♣4♠10♠ flop. Swords called, but Byrne folded.
Both players checked on the 3♠ turn and then Swords check-folded facing an 800,000 bet from Ito on the 5♣ river.
Chester Swords opened to 250,000 on the button and it was folded to Ciaran Paxman, who moved all in for about 3,000,000 in the big blind. Swords nearly beat Paxman into the pot with a call, holding a covering stack.
Ciaran Paxman: K♦Q♣
Chester Swords: A♣K♠
Paxman unwittingly shoved right into Swords' Big Slick with a dominated hand, and the 9♥6♦10♦5♣3♣ runout kept Swords best with his ace to send Paxman out in seventh place.
Heads up on a board of 8♠6♥J♦Q♣ with several hundred thousand already in the middle, Gening Dai bet 425,000 from under the gun and Yesha Punjabi announced she was all in from the hijack. Dai quickly called all in for about 1,700,000 behind and hands were revealed.
Gening Dai: Q♥Q♠
Yesha Punjabi: A♥Q♦
It was bad news for Punjabi, who was already drawing dead with top pair against Dai's set of queens.
A meaningless 3♣ completed the board and Dai was awarded the double up.
Chien-Hui Chiang moved all in for approximately 1,200,000 on the button and was called by Chester Swords in the small blind. Benjamin French peeked down at his hole cards and went deep into the tank from the big blind before eventually announcing he was also all in for about 2,000,000 total. Swords snap-called and a three-way showdown was called.
Chien-Hui Chiang: K♦9♠
Benjamin French: J♥J♦
Chester Swords: A♣A♦
"I knew it when you just called!" French said in disappointment after seeing Swords' aces.
The K♠8♠5♣ flop improved Chiang to a pair of kings and the 6♣ turn gave him further outs with a straight draw, but the 10♦ river was a total brick — leaving Swords best with his assassins to score a double knockout on the final table.
Since he had the shortest stack, Chiang was eliminated in ninth place while French was eliminated in eighth place.
Ciaran Paxman opened to 200,000 from middle position and just behind him, Kenta Ito shoved for 1,500,000 in the hijack. Action folded to Chien-Hui Chiang, who also went all in from the big blind for more, which got Paxman to fold.
Kenta Ito: A♣10♣
Chien-Hui Chiang: K♣J♣
Ito held the lead with his ace and maintained it after the 10♥8♦6♠4♣6♥ runout paired his ten and he was awarded the double up.
Jaxon Byrne opened to 200,000 on the button and just behind him, Ahmed Abdellatif shoved for approximately 1,600,000 in the small blind. It was folded back to Byrne, who snap-called to put Abdellatif at risk.
Ahmed Abdellatif: A♦9♦
Jaxon Byrne: A♣10♣
Abdellatif found himself dominated and remained second-best on the 8♠5♥J♣A♥A♠ runout — eliminating Abdellatif one spot shy of the final table.
Ciaran Paxman opened to 200,000 from the hijack and just behind him, Chester Swords moved all in from the cutoff. Just behind him, Patrick Barba called all in for a bit under 2,000,000 and everyone else folded, including Paxman.
Patrick Barba: 9♣9♠
Chester Swords: K♠10♠
It was a fair fight between Barba's pair and Swords' two overs, and the 7♣J♠4♦ flop and Q♣ turn left Barba one card away from a crucial double up.
However, a fateful K♣ drilled Swords king on the end to end Barba's run in 11th place in heartbreaking fashion.
