Patrick Barba Eliminated in 11th Place ($11,490 AUD)
Level 26
: Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Ciaran Paxman opened to 200,000 from the hijack and just behind him, Chester Swords moved all in from the cutoff. Just behind him, Patrick Barba called all in for a bit under 2,000,000 and everyone else folded, including Paxman.
Patrick Barba: 9♣9♠
Chester Swords: K♠10♠
It was a fair fight between Barba's pair and Swords' two overs, and the 7♣J♠4♦ flop and Q♣ turn left Barba one card away from a crucial double up.
However, a fateful K♣ drilled Swords king on the end to end Barba's run in 11th place in heartbreaking fashion.
