Van Marcus Takes Down a Nice Pot

Van moves up to 26,000
Van moves up to 26,000
Sol Bergen bet 2,500 from middle position and both Van Marcus and the small blind called. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Bergen led out with a 4,000 bet. Van Marcus quickly came over the top for another 10,000 in chips - setting himself all in.

The small blind folded and Sol went into the tank, before he eventually mucked his hand as well.

Marcus is up to 26,000, while Bergen dropped to 20,000.

Rapid Fire Bustouts

We're down to 96 players. In the first twenty minutes after dinner break, the eliminations are happening faster than we can keep up. We're only 46 more bustouts until the money bubble bursts.

Khouiss Chips Up

Sam Khouiss has moved up to 34,000 courtesy of a good read. His opponent bet 2,000 on the flop of {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, after having limped UTG and Khouiss flat called. Khouiss called another 4,000 chip bet on a {A-Hearts} turn and insta-called his opponent's river bet of 8,000 after the {4-Diamonds} fell off.

The UTG player showed {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for air and Khouiss raked in the pot with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} good for a pair of aces.

Bergren Doubles Up

Sol Bergren just earned himself some extra breathing room after doubling up to just over 17,000 in chips. Bergren got all of his money in pre-flop holding A-Q against an opponent's A-J and the best hand held up to give Sol the pot.

Scekic Takes a (Small) Hit

The monster-stacked Jovan Scekic called an opponent's pre-flop all in bet, holding A-K to the other player's Q-J. When the flop came down K-4-2, Scekic's opponent got up from the table and started putting on his jacket, resigned to his fate. The turn, though, was an A and the river a ten, making him the nut straight! Scekic's opponent sat back down in shock as the pot was shipped his way.

Not all is lost for Scekic, however. He's still stacked at a very robust 52,000.
