Karib Karib's Wild Ride

Local favorite Karib Karib was circling the drain after this last hand. When his opponent in Seat 1 made an open pair of jacks on fourth street, he bet out and Karib called, having caught an ace.

On fifth, Seat 1 led out again and Karib called. On sixth, he led out again and Karib raised, having caught the {K-Spades}

. His opponent called. On seventh, both men checked. Seat 1 turned over {Q-Diamonds}

in the hole for two pair, jacks and eights. Karib flashed the {A-Diamonds}

and mucked in disgust. He was left with only 1,050 chips after the hand.

On the very next hand, Karib raised to 600 with the {J-Clubs}

up. Rainer Quel re-raised, putting Karib all in, and he made the call. Though Quel made a pair of aces on the river, Karib made two pair, eights and fives, and lived to fight another day.

"You have to play with me a little longer!" he quipped as he dragged in the pot.
