The Beauty of Limit

The beauty of limit poker is the hands that players are able to draw with cheaply. An interesting hand just developed where Steve Ginoski just couldn't shake his opponents from drawing. The board read {Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Ginoski held pocket nines for a flopped set, however he was run down but Roman Pesochinsky who was behind the whole way with his pocket eights until he spiked his gutshot straight on a miracle river.

Edwards Cracks Aces

In a four-way pot Johnathan Sullivan held {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and was looking good going into the flop however 9-3-3 on the board gave his opponent Ben Edwards a full house with his {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and the chips started splashing into the middle! The turn and river blanked and Edwards took down a huge pot, cracking the aces of an unfortunate Johnathan Sullivan.

Sarah Bilney Takes Hit

Sarah Bilney has just been very unlucky to lose a big pot in a clash with Scott Jensen on table 25.

With the board reading 9-9-A-8-9 Bilney held pocket eights and was looking good with her full house on the turn but the river gave Jensen a larger full house when he flipped over pocket queens!

Michael "Timex" McDonald Early Chip Leader

Michael "Timex" McDonald
Michael "Timex" McDonald
Michael "Timex" McDonald has already accumulated a large stack of chips in front of him. In a recent pot McDonald was the pre-flop raiser and bet all three streets, with the player in the big blind coming along for the ride. The board read {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and McDonald flipped over {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for top pair-top kicker which was enough to collect another nice pot.

Rayan Nathan Scoops Following Confusion

With the board showing {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} there was some raised eyebrows on the table as the dealer flipped the river card before Rayan Nathan had acted. After much confusion and a ruling from the tournament director, the river was re-shuffled into the deal and Nathan was given a chance to act on his hand. In anti-climatic fashion Nathan checked and a new river was dealt. The {A-Hearts} seemed to be more to Nathan's liking as his 200 chip bet on the river was enough to take down a healthy pot.
