Makariou Makes Set Over Set
Level 13
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Stylianos Makariou opened in early position and called when Greg Davison three-bet in the big blind.
Davison led out for 25,000 on the 6♣2♣7♠ flop and Makariou made the call. Both players then checked the A♦ turn.
The 8♠ river saw Davison lead out again for 45,000 before Makariou moved all in. Davison snap-called and the hands were turned up.
Makariou showed 8♥8♦ for a set of eights on the river, while a frustrated Davison turned over 6♥6♦ for an inferior set.
