Ulf Carlberg Eliminated in 18th Place (A$15,600)

Level 21 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Ulf Carlberg
Ulf Carlberg

Ulf Carlberg shoved around 550,000 from the button and Chad Awerbuch jammed in his stack of 2,000,000 from the small blind.

Ulf Carlberg: 88 All in
Chad Awerbuch: AQ

Carlberg was in a fair fight for his tournament life and had survived multiple all-ins today to keep himself alive. It looked as if he would survive again as the 1036 flop kept his Snowmen in the lead. A J on the turn put him one card away from a seven-figure stack, but the Q river was a dagger in the heart for Carlberg, ending his run in 18th.

Arbabi Connects With the River

Level 22 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Louis Luo made it 125,000 to go from the hijack and Kiavash Arbabi shoved the cutoff for 435,000. When it got to Chad Awerbuch in the small blind, he four-bet to 735,000, which got Luo to fold.

Kiavash Arbabi: AJ All in
Chad Awerbuch: 99

Arbabi was flipping and at risk with his overcards. It seemed like he would be heading home after the 537 flop kept the nines of Awerbuch ahead. A 2 on the turn did add some more outs for Arbabi as he picked up a wheel draw, but he only had one chance to hit.

One chance was all he needed, however, as the 4 fell on the river, giving Arbabi a straight and doubling him up.

Jaber Fires Three Barrels

Level 22 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Noel Jaber raised to 100,000 on the button and Yuanting Wang defended his big blind.

Wang check-called a 150,000 bet from Jaber on the 4A2 flop and a 225,000 bet from Jaber on the 9 turn.

The 10 completed the board and Wang checked a final time — prompting an overbet of 1,500,000 from Jaber.

"Why so much?" Wang inquired as he pondered his decision. No response.

Eventually, Wang tossed his hand into the muck and Jaber said Wang could turn over one of his cards. Wang turned over the 4 and Jaber collected the pot.

Burns Spikes a King on the River to Crack Aces

Level 22 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Kahle Burns
Kahle Burns

Kahle Burns made it 100,000 to go from the hijack and David Pham three-bet to 225,000 from the button. When it got back to Burns, he shoved for 1,100,000, and Pham snap-called!

Kahle Burns: KK All in
David Pham: AA

It was a nightmare scenario for Burns whose kings were way behind the aces of Pham. The flop of 8104 was as dry as they come and the 7 turn left Burns with just one chance to stay alive. Miraculously, the K fell on the river, giving Burns top set and sending him soaring up the counts.

Pham Stays Alive

Level 22 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

David Pham had his stack of 270,000 in the middle from the hijack and had been put at risk by Nelson Dong.

David Pham: AK All in
Nelson Dong: K6

Pham was well ahead with his Big Slick and flopped top pair on the 7K9 board. A 3 on the turn made things a little sweaty as Dong picked up a flush draw, but the A river secured the double for Pham.
