Walton Avoids Chop

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

A player opened to 1,500 under the gun and the player on the button just ripped all in for about 32,000. After getting a count of the big chips, Adam Walton shoved in the small blind. The opener sighed and tossed {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} into the middle.

Walton: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}

The {j-}{j-}{5-}{5-} board had things looking choppy, with the opener likely regretting his fold, until a {k-Hearts} river sent the whole pot to Walton.

Robledo Cracks Aces

There was about 20,000 in the middle between a player in the small blind and Lewis Robledo. The board read {2-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and the small blind moved all in for 29,100.

Lewis Robledo seemed a bit distraught in middle position, saying something about two pair. Finally, he called.

The small blind turned over {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} but it was Robledo with two pair: {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, good for the pot.

Over the past couple of weeks, action has continued as Bally's dealt a variety of tournaments in a variety of games to continue Main Event Mania, each one allowing players to accrue points for the festival leaderboard that awards a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat.

James Poper was one of the winners, taking the last event before Christmas when he shipped the $250 Big O for $4,472.

After Christmas, several more events went down, including a $400 H.O.R.S.E. won by Gary Bolden for $7,987 and a $600 2-7 Triple Draw that went to Denis Nesterenko for $7,702.
