Gregg Bloom raised to 400,000 in the cutoff with A♦Q♥ and got called by Ronald Kaepernick in the small blind with 8♠8♣.
The flop came 6♥5♠2♥ and Kaepernick led for 400,000. Bloom called to see the 9♠ on the turn.
The players now checked, and did so again on the 9♦ river as Kaepernick's two pair were good to take the pot, and the chip lead from Bloom.
Ian Auvil was all in for 780,000 from the big blind with Q♣8♠ versus Gregg Bloom's A♠10♣ in the small blind.
The flop came 8♥7♥3♥, pairing Auvil's eight. He still had to fade a pair of overcards, but would do just that as the 7♠ turn and Q♦ river completed the board, keeping the lively Auvil in the game.
Folded to Ronald Kaepernick in the small blind, he moved all in for 1,700,000 with A♣7♠. He would run into Paul Chamberlain and his J♠J♦ who called.
The dealer dropped a flop of A♠K♣10♣, pairing Kaepernick's ace to give him the lead. Chamberlain would need a queen for a straight or a jack for a set to eliminate Kaepernick.
Unfortunately for him, the 9♠K♥ turn and river were neither, sending a healthy double-up to Kaepernick.
After Ian Auvil opened to 350,000 in the cutoff with A♦6♦, Paul Chamberlain moved all in for 1,800,000 in the small blind with 8♠8♣.
Back on Auvil, he thought for a bit and then made the call.
The flop came K♣J♠8♥, giving Chamberlain a set of eights. To rub salt in Auvil's wound, the board completed 6♥A♥, giving Auvil a losing backdoor two pair, while Chamberlain doubled up with his set.
After Paul Chamberlain raised to 325,000 under the gun with A♣9♣, Ronald Kaepernick moved all in from the big blind with K♠Q♦.
Chamberlain thought briefly but then called to put Kaepernick at risk.
The flop came K♥9♥7♥, pairing Kaepernick's king to take the lead.
The turn was the 7♠ and the river the 5♦, keeping Kaepernick's kings ahead to earn a much-needed double-up.
Miguel Medrano moved his last 270,000 into the middle with 7♠7♥ and got called by Gregg Bloom in the big blind with Q♦5♦.
The flop came A♦3♠2♦, bringing a world of outs to Bloom.
The A♣ turn changed nothing, but the 4♦ on the river brought Bloom everything he could want with a wheel and a flush.
Medrano headed to the payout desk to pick up his 5th place money, while Bloom extended his chip lead.

Ronald Kaepernick folded and Auvil quickly called with a similar stack.
"No ace," called Auvil as the dealer spread a flop of 10♣8♠4♥. Auvil's kings continued to hold on the 8♥ turn, and then finally with the 5♥ river.
The dealer counted down the chips to see if Medrano was still alive. He was barely just so, holding onto 200,000 chips, while Auvil moved solidly back into second place.
