Holden Finds River Value

Level 3 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Jhonny Ortiz opened to 2,000 in the cutoff and Christian Holden answered with a three-bet to 7,000 on the button. Action folded back around to Ortiz, who fired a four-bet to 17,000.

Holden called and both players checked through the JQ7 flop. Ortiz then led out for 6,000 on the 6 turn and Holden called.

The 4 river completed the board and Ortiz checked. Holden slid out a bet of 12,000 and Ortiz made the call.

Holden showed down AA for a set of aces, taking down a nice pot as Ortiz shook his head while mucking his cards.

While there, he also won a drawing for a $10,400 seat into the WPT World Championship. Talk about a heater!

Germano just jumped into today's Eastern Poker Open High Roller and is looking for even more poker success!

Four-way action to the 473 flop saw Linval Gentles fired a bet of 2,400 from under the gun. The only caller was Jeffery McQuillan in middle position.

Gentles continued with a bet of 5,500 on the Q turn, with McQuillan calling again. The 6 river saw Gentles toss out 8,000 before McQuillan raised to 20,000.

After taking some time, Gentles slid in the call. McQuillan showed 66 for a set of sixes, taking down the pot as Gentles mucked.

Straight Good for Gardner

Level 3 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Jim Gardner limped from early position and the player to his left raised to 2,200. The player on the button called, RJ Pinkham came along from the big blind, and four players took a flop of 498.

Action checked around and the 5 turn put three diamonds on the board. Pinkham bet 3,000 and Gardner quickly called. The other two players got out of the way and it was heads-up to the river, which came the A.

Pinkham checked and Gardner did the same before tabling the 67 for a straight. It was good as Pinkham simply mucked his cards.

It took just over a level of play for the first player to fall.

With a board reading 2K28J, there was already a considerable amount in the middle and Yianni Emmanouilidis was in the tank debating what to do as his opponent, RJ Pinkham, had moved all in.

Eventually, Emmanouilidis called off his stack of 70,000 or so only to muck when Pinkham tabled the 98 for a rivered diamond flush.
