Day 2 Started
The time has arrived at the 2025 Eastern Poker Open, as Day 1 survivors join monthly qualifiers, regional winners and wild cards to battle for The $34,000 Championship title.
Saturday saw 291 hopefuls take their shot at the Doubletree by Hilton Boston Milford, with only the final 16 earning a spot in today’s final at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Those 16 players already earned a $150 payday by advancing to Day 2, while chip leader William Ferdinand also collected a $400 Bar Poker Open hotel & seat package.
Although Ferdinand collected the most chips on Saturday, all of the players will start fresh for the final day for a shot at the $10,000 first-place prize.

In one of the first hands of the day, Richard Rollka raised to 2,500 only to have Dylan Major three-bet to 7,000 from the button. Both blinds folded, Rollka called, and the flop came down 10♠A♦J♠.
Rollka led out for 12,000 and then called when Major raised to 37,000.
Both players proceeded to check the K♣ turn and then the J♣ paired the board on the river.
Rollka checked and then folded the K♠Q♣ flopped straight face up after Major moved all in.
Major didn't show his hand but did state, "I made a boat on the river."

Action exploded on a flop of 7♠J♦Q♦ between Jason Ahaesy and Ben Bray, which resulted in the former getting his stack of 81,000 in the middle.
Jason Ahaesy: A♦K♦
Ben Bray: A♣A♥
Bray was ahead with aces but Ahaesy was drawing live to both diamond and straight draws. The 2♦ turn settled things as Ahaesy made his flush to lock up the hand, and he was pushed the pot after the meaningless 10♠ was run out on the river.
Meanwhile, Najib Ishaq was the first player eliminated from the tournament and Bill Haley joined the rail a short time later.

With a board reading 10♥6♦8♦7♥, Jim Gardner ended up getting his stack of 73,500 all in against Jonathan Dwinell.
Jim Gardner: 9♦9♣
Jonathan Dwinell: 7♠7♣
Gardner was ahead with a straight but he wasn't out of the woods as Dwinell held a set and was looking for the board to pair.
Fortunatley for Gardner, that didn't happen as the safe Q♦ peeled off on the river.
