Wilson Fires Twice

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Denavol Wilson opened the action with a raise to 1,200 in middle position and saw action fold around to the big blind, who defended. The flop fell {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the big blind checked to Wilson, who made a continuation-bet of 2,000. The big blind called.

The turn came {4-Spades} and the big blind checked again. Wilson reached for chips, grabbing four more of the 1,000 denomination and tossing them onto the felt.

The big blind looked back at his cards and then paused for two seconds before sliding them to the left from his position in the eight-seat, earning Wilson the pot.

Also spotted on Wilson's table was Thad McNulty, who took fifth place in January's Winer Open Main Event for $49,113. A Jacksonville resident, McNulty is a familiar face in the room and hopes to make another deep run this time around.

Palmer Calls Correctly

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action folded to Dustin Holladay in the small blind and he opened to 700. Josh Palmer three-bet to 2,000 in the big blind and Holladay called.

Both players checked all the way to the river as the board came {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Holladay cut out a bet of 2,600. Palmer thought for a couple of moments and then found a call.

Holladay shrugged slightly and lifted his cards only so that they were visible to himself. Palmer showed {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Holladay sent his cards to the muck, earning Palmer the pot with tens up.

Petraglia Out-Kicks at Showdown

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Paul Petraglia
Paul Petraglia

A player limped in from the hijack and Kelly Slay pumped it up to 1,200 on the button. Paul Petraglia called in the small blind and both the big blind and limper also came along, taking four to the streets.

Everybody checked the flop {4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and the turn came {8-Diamonds}. Petraglia bet 2,000 and received only a call from the hijack, taking action heads up to the river {8-Hearts} where both players checked to take the hand to showdown.

Upon checking back, the hijack tabled {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for eights up with a nine kicker, which Petraglia out-pipped by one with {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} to earn him the pot.

Andrew Brinkley was also spotted at another table in the room, having re-entered and chipped up to 42,000 on his second bullet of the day.

Manning Saved by the Backdoor Flush

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Karl Manning
Karl Manning

The flop read {4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds} with 1,600 in the middle and action was heads up between the Tammer Ilcaffas in the small blind and Karl Manning, who was under the gun. Ilcaffas had led out and Manning was in the process of jamming his stack forward, totaling 19,400, which Ilcaffas called.

Karl Manning: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Tammer Ilcaffas: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

"Nice hand," said Manning, seeing he needed to hit a jack or running diamonds to stay alive. Much to his delight, the latter came true as the turn {3-Diamonds} and river {9-Diamonds} rolled onto the felt to give him a flush and score him the double.
