Charles Calls with Ace-High, Then Gets Value with Ace-High

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Lonaisi Charles was in the big blind in a heads-up pot against Lucas Tae in late position on a board of {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} with an array of chips in the middle.

Charles checked and Tae fired a sizable bet of 9,000. Charles took a few seconds before announcing a call. Tae turned over {10-Spades}{7-Spades} for a missed straight draw and Charles showed {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} to win the pot after making the call with just ace-high.

An orbit or two later, the two found themselves in another heads-up pot when Charles again called out of the small blind.

Charles checked on the flop of {j-}{10-}{4-} and called a small bet of his opponent. Charles checked dark headed to the {j-} turn and Tae checked back.

Charles led out for 3,000 on the {10-} river and Tae made the call. Charles showed {a-}{8-} for ace-high and Tae smiled and shook his head slightly before tossing his cards into the muck.

Krnyaich Eliminated; Hops Back In

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Phillip Krnyaich was in position in a heads-up pot on a flop of {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

His opponent checked and Krnyaich bet 6,000. The opponent quickly raised all-in for 11,000 and Krnyaich called just as quickly with a slightly bigger stack.

Opponent: {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Phillip Krnyaich: {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Krnyaich was far in front with a flush draw and pair while his opponent had an open-ended straight draw. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn gave him the straight and Krnyaich did not improve on the {2-Diamonds} river to be left with just 5,400.

Krnyaich moved all-in the next hand with {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and got called by an opponent's {a-Spades}{10-Spades} before a runout of {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-}, which sent him out. He bought back into the tournament soonafter.

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Gloria Jackson opened to 2,500 in late position and Steve Zhang three-bet to 8,000 in the small blind. The big blind then four-bet shoved and Jackson thought through her decision.

"Oh goodness," she said before folding, while Zhang called with the opponent covered.

Big Blind: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Steve Zhang: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

"This is going to be a battle," the big blind said when he saw Zhang had aces.

The board ran out {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Zhang's aces held up to send the opponent to the rail.

Joseph Caligiure
Joseph Caligiure

Joseph Caligiure was down to just 900 and got it in against two opponents, who checked it down on a board of {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Caligiure couldn't sit still during the hand and was quick to table {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for quads to more than triple his short stack.
