Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

BetMGM March Poker Mania Pennsylvania host Matt Berkey needs no introduction in the poker community as he has been a high-stakes cash game and tournament crusher for years.

A proud "Yinzer," Berkey never shies away from his blue-collar Pittsburgh roots and can frequently be heard on podcasts and social media telling stories about putting ketchup on every food imaginable or explaining how a person's jelly preference can tell you about their upbringing.

Berkey's success in live tournaments has earned him $4.3 million in earnings, per The Hendon Mob, including a career-best fifth-place finish in $300,000 No-Limit Hold'em at the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl that earned him a coveted seven-figure score worth $1.1 million.

Other big scores by Berkey, who got his first recorded cash back in 2006, include a victory a $25,000 Aria High Roller in 2015 for $315,180, as well as a third-place finish in the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $5,250 SHRPO Championship, which earned him $341,618.

March Poker Mania Profiles: Meet Michigan's Andrew Neeme

Andrew Neeme
Andrew Neeme

If you're a poker player and have ever been on YouTube, chances are you've watched or come across a vlog by BetMGM March Poker Mania Michigan host Andrew Neeme. One of the pioneers of poker vlogging, Michigan's Neeme has hundreds of poker videos that each rack up tens or hundreds of thousands of views.

One video in particular, of a cash game session where Neeme flops quads and gets check-raised, has gotten over 620,000 views to make it Neeme's most-watched video. Another video where Neeme gets raised while holding pocket aces has garnered 514,000 views.

In addition to running a YouTube channel with over 175,000 subscribers, Neeme is famous for hosting live meet-up games in Las Vegas and other parts of the country, allowing fans and regular viewers to play pots against himself, Brad Owen and other popular poker content creators.

Andrew Neeme
Andrew Neeme

Most recently, Neeme teamed up with Owen and Upswing Poker's Doug Polk in investing in the Lodge Poker Club in Austin, one of the most popular rooms in the booming Texas poker scene.

"The idea came up that wouldn’t it be cool if instead of going [to other venues], what if we just had our own cardroom and we could just set up shop," Neeme recently told PokerNews on the PokerNews Podcast. "Instead of promoting other people’s things, the thing would sort of point inward and we could have a say in how the room is run and all these benefits that would come with ownership."

As a March Poker Mania host, Neeme will host the MetMGM Poker Cash Game Meetup at MGM Grand Detroit on March 23 and a college basketball hangout at the BetMGM Sports Lounge on March 24 before streaming several events on his YouTube channel throughout the week.

March Poker Mania Profiles: Meet New Jersey's Darren Elias

Darren Elias
Darren Elias

BetMGM's March Poker Mania New Jersey host Darren Elias boasts an impressive $9.5 million in live tournament earnings and another $8 million in online earnings, per The Hendon Mob, that puts him fourth on the state's all-time money list.

Elias earned his biggest live score in 2014 when he took down the World Poker Tour (WPT) Borgata Championship for $843,744 to earn his second WPT title.

It was the New Jersey pro's second WPT title and wouldn't be his last. He also won the 2018 WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic for $387,580, as well as the Main Event at the 2017 WPT Fallsview Poker Classic for $326,776.

In total, Elias has four WPT titles and $4 million in earnings to earn him a 10th-place spot on the WPT all-time leaderboard.

Back in November 2021, Elias hosted BetMGM's "The End Boss Poker Series" in New Jersey. Players who knocked out Elias in the $150K GTD Main Event Tournament earned a free 3-day/2-night stay at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

As far as March Poker Mania goes, Elias will host a meet-up at the BetMGM Sportsbook at Borgata Hotel, Casino, and Spa on March 24, along with the live Spring Rebound Poker Tournament, an 8-max tournament with a $1,000 buy-in with a $100,000 guarantee from BetMGM and Borgata Poker on March 25.
