Wang Takes from Kuether

Level 24 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Michael Wang opened to 110,00 from the hijack and Joe Kuether defended out of the big blind.

Kuether checked on the flop of {2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and called a bet of 75,000 from Wang. Kuether checked again on the {4-Diamonds} turn and Wang checked back.

Keuther led out for 125,000 on the {7-Spades} river and Wang used two time banks before calling. Kuether showed {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a pair of threes, which was no good against the {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts} of Wang for a pair of sevens.

Felson Gets Aces Again

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Benji Felson
Benji Felson

Benji Felson opened to 80,000 from middle position before Zachary Donovan jammed from the big blind. Felson, with 775,000, called off for his tournament life.

"How do you have aces again?" asked Donovan, as he saw his opponent table his cards.

Benji Felson: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Zachary Donovan: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The aces were never threatened and Felson scooped after the {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Hearts} runout.

Donovan then shipped in his stack in back-to-back hands, he received no action but was able to reclaim back some lost chips.

Noel Rodriguez opened to 40,000 from the cutoff and Paul Hoefer defended out of the big blind.

Hoefer checked on the flop of {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} and called a bet of 70,000 from Rodriguez. Hoefer checked on the {j-Clubs} turn and Rodriguez checked back.

The river brought the {6-Spades} and Hoefer fired a bet of 240,000. Rodriguez, wearing a pair of noise-canceling headphones, then startled the table when he yelled "RAISE, 980,000."

Hoefer took a moment before flicking his cards to the muck.

"Man, that was loud. I wonder how loud you will be with a million," commented Todd Ivens.

Kuether Doubles

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Joey Weissman opened to 90,000 from under the gun before Joe Kuether jammed for 1,350,000. Albert Nguyen re-jammed from the big blind and Weissman got out of the way.

Kuether had the {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and was up against Nguyen's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Kuether flopped a better flush draw as the dealer fanned the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. The {2-Clubs} changed nothing but the {4-Hearts} river gave Kuether the double up.
