Four-Bet Wins It for Weissman

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Joey Weissman
Joey Weissman

Albert Nguyen opened to 40,000 from the cutoff and Duff Charette three-bet to 110,000 from the button. Joey Weissman then four-bet shoved from the small blind and Nguyen snap-folded before racing off to the bathroom. Charette moaned and used a time bank as he considered a call.

"You know I'm not light," Charette said quietly before verbally folding.

Kempton Sets the Trap

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Isaac Kempton
Isaac Kempton

Jake Daniels opened to 40,000 from under the gun and was called by short stack Isaac Kempton. Duff Charette then moved all in for around 350,000 from the small blind. Daniels mucked but Kempton snap-called.

Isaac Kempton:{a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Duff Charette: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Kempton was at risk of elimination but he was in a strong position to double up. That's exactly what he did following the {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} runout.

Duff Charette Eliminated in 21st Place ($12,074)

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Duff Charette
Duff Charette

Duff Charette jammed for 160,000 from the small blind and he was quickly called by Joey Weissman from the big blind.

Duff Charette: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Joey Weissman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs} was of no help to Charette but the {3-Diamonds} turn brought in some possible chop outs. The {10-Spades} river wasn't one of them, and Charette became the latest Day 3 casualty.

Sena-Hopkins Cools Off Wang

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Michael Wang raised from the button and Nick Sena-Hopkins three-bet jammed a stack of 230,000 from the small blind. Wang snap-called with a bigger stack.

Nick Sena-Hopkins: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Michael Wang: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Sena-Hopkins was on the winning side of the cooler as his pocket aces held up against Wang's pocket queens as the board ran out {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} to earn him a double.

Weissman Takes Chip Lead

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Joey Weissman
Joey Weissman

With around 450,000 in the pot on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} completed board, Albert Nguyen bet 375,000 from the cutoff. His opponent, Joey Weissman, was on the button.

"I have a really bad feeling about this," said Weissman, as he flicked in calling chips.

Nguyen rolled over his {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a set of jacks but it was no good. Weissmann tabled his {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, which was good for a jack-high straight.

"Oh wow," replied Nguyen after seeing the pot was pushed towards Weissman's direction.

Alex Goulder Eliminated in 20th Place ($12,074)

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Alex Goulder
Alex Goulder

Alex Goulder open-jammed a stack of 290,000 from the small blind. Isaac Kempton peeped at his cards and shrugged before calling and wishing his opponent good luck.

Alex Goulder: {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Isaac Kempton: {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The flop of {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} gave Kempton a big lead with two pair and the board finished out {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} to improve him to a full house and send Goulder to the rail in 20th place.

Cody Wiegmann Eliminated in 19th Place ($12,074)

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Cody Wiegmann
Cody Wiegmann

Benji Felson opened to 40,000 from the cutoff before Cody Wiegmann raised to 210,000, just leaving 5,000 behind.

Felson, thinking his opponent was all in, called and tried to expose his hand. He was stopped before his cards turned over.

Wiegmann then asked, "Anything Good?"

"I have aces," replied Felson.

The floor was then called over to explain the situation. After being satisfied with the story from the table, the floor allowed the dealer to fan the flop.

As expected, the final chips got in the middle on the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop.

Cody Wiegamnn: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Benji Felson: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Wiegmann was unable to hit his gutshot straight draw and was eliminated from the tournament and took home a time extension plaque as a souvenir.

Isaac Kempton Eliminated in 18th Place ($14,269)

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Isaac Kempton
Isaac Kempton

Two of the biggest stacks in the tournament tangled when Isaac Kempton opened from the hijack and Joey Weissman three-bet to 160,000 out of the small blind. Kempton called.

Weissman continued with a bet of 225,000 on the flop of {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Kempton checked his cards before calling. Weissman checked on the {q-Hearts} turn and Kempton bet a small 200,000. Weissman called.

Weissman checked on the {k-Diamonds} river and Kempton took a few moments before announcing all in for 885,000. Players gathered around the tabled as Weissman ate through two of his time extensions, staring down Kempton like a bird of prey as players gathered around the table. Weissman put out a chip for a call.

Kempton tabled {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} in defeat to show a bluff with six-high, while Weissman tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to win the pot after making a big call with second pair.

"Sick call, Joey!" table mate Todd Ivens said as Kempton left to get his payout.

The massive pot, by far the biggest of the day so far, gives Weissman a commanding chip lead over his 16 remaining opponents.
