Krunk Forced to Fold

Level 1 : 75/150, 25 ante

Cliff "Johnny Bax" Josephy opened to 400 from under the gun, Robert "Uncle Krunk" Panitch called two seats to his left, She Lok Wong called near the button, and Tom Marchese tossed in enough chips to join the action from the small blind.

The dealer fanned {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, Marchese checked, and Josephy continued for 1,200. Before Panitch could call, Wong looked like he was about to raise.

"That's a tell," Josephy said, smiling.

Panitch called, Wong indeed raised, tossing in a grey T5,000 chip and saying "thirty-five." The action folded back to Panitch, who called the raise.

The turn was the {a-Spades}, Panitch checked, and Wong fired 6,000. Panitch check-raised to 13,000, Wong moved all in, and Panitch folded.

Raskin Rakes an Early One

Level 1 : 75/150, 25 ante
Micah Raskin
Micah Raskin

The flop read {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} when we strolled by Micah Raskin's table, and the longtime pro was checking from the hijack to Anthony Zinno - who already has his name etched on the World Poker Tour Champion's Cup on display here today.

Zinno was in the cutoff and he tapped the table as well, prompting a bet of 800 from the player holding the button. Raskin flatted while Zinno folded, and the {j-Hearts} fell on fourth street. Both players knuckled the felt to see the {8-Spades} come down on the river.

Raskin then flicked out a bet of 2,000 and stared straight ahead, with the button tanking for a minute or so before laying down.

Too Mukul

Level 1 : 75/150, 25 ante

Mukul Pahuja is running away with the World Poker Tour Player of the Year and is merely here to prove his dominance as he has the award fairly locked up. Him and a few more notables have taken their seats.

Only two players can actually catch Pahuja - Shaun Suller and Dylan Wilkerson - and only if they win this tournament.

New Millionaire Myroslaw Woroch in the House

Myroslaw Woroch

At the end of the 2014 Borgata Winter Poker Open, Myroslaw Woroch took down the BorgataPoker.com New Jersey's Next Poker Millionaire sit-n-go, earning a cool $1 million.

Woroch was among eight players who navigated through a sea of online qualifiers to reach the final table, and in the end he was the last player standing. His $1 million check included:

  • A seat in a $100,000 buy-in WPT Alpha8 Event
  • A seat in the WPT World Championship
  • Two entries to $3,500 WPT events held at Borgata
  • 52 entries into the Sunday $50K
  • $8,000 in love tournament entries at Borgata
  • A balnce of $859,600

We will certainly follow Woroch's progress today, as he tries to parlay his victory in February into a seat in the WPT Champions Club.

Purple Reign

Level 1 : 75/150, 25 ante

Jean "Prince" Gaspard opened the action to 400 and was called by Greg Merson. Cliff Josephy decided to raise it up, making it 1,400 to go.

Gaspard declined to fold or call, instead putting in another raise, this time to 3,900. Merson quickly got out of the way and Josephy wasn't too far behind in tossing his cards into the muck.
