Novak Shoves, Madsen Folds

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Valerie Novak
Valerie Novak

With 65,000 already in the middle, Valerie Novak moved all in over the top of Jeff Madsen. From the size of the pot and Madsen's position on the button it was an obvious four bet. Madsen tanked long and hard before folding and Novak was gracious and showed Madsen her hand... {K-}{K-}. Novak has had a good day thus far and is up to 185,000. Madsen is still looking good with 270,000.

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Paul Volpe (Day 1a) - Showered
Paul Volpe (Day 1a) - Showered

Paul Volpe was all in and at risk with {8-}{8-} moments ago, according to Jeff Papola. He was racing against Abraham Korotki's {k-}{q-}, and there was a queen on the flop. Volpe failed to improve on the turn or river, and was eliminated.

Parisi Doubles

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Two players, including John Parisi, checked to Frank Toscano on a board of {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, and he tossed out a bet. Parisi moved all in for 28,000, a third player re-shoved for 55,600, and Toscano called.

Parisi: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Re-Shover: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Toscano: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The {5-Diamonds} bricked off on the river, and Parisi scooped the main pot. Toscano fell to 140,000, and tablemate Shankar Pillai has all of the chips; 430,000.

Oh, No

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Kevin Grabel (Day 1a) - Eliminated
Kevin Grabel (Day 1a) - Eliminated

With around 20,000 in the middle, Kevin Grabel fired out a bet of 14,200 on a flop of {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Jewook Oh raised to around 40,000, a third player folded, and Grabel moved all in for effectively 113,200. Oh snap-called.

Grabel: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}
Oh: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Grabel was on a draw, and unfortunately for him neither the {k-Hearts} on the turn nor the {9-Hearts} on the river improved his hand, crippling him to 30,000 chips. He was eliminated with unknown action soon after.

Oh more than doubled to around 260,000 chips.

Brady Makes Gutsy Call to Double Up

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With the board showing {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and approximately 40,000 in the pot already, Matt Brady faced an all in bet from Kevin Grabel.

Brady peeked at his cards, wondering if his {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} was any good. He took his time, thinking through the hand in his head, and made the call.

"You're good," said Grabel, mucking his hand and while pointing to this PokerNews reporter said "it's all your fault. He wanted to make the hero call to get on the blog."

Brady joked "it's already printed up". Both players had about 110,000 after the hand.

Christian Harder Doubles Up

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Christian Harder
Christian Harder

Shortly before the break with a flop of {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and a good sized pot already in the middle of the table, Christian Harder checked. His opponent made it 17,000 to go and Harder check-raised to 47,000. His opponent put in a large stack of blue 5,000 chips and Harder didn't think too long before announcing he was all in for 152,400 total. He was quickly called by his opponent who held a monster with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair with the nut flush draw. Harder had a bigger hand, {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for top set but would have to fade the flush draw to stay alive.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} changing nothing and the river was another safe card for Harder as it was the {5-Spades}. Harder moves to the top of the leader board with the pot. With a good score here, Harder could move above six million in total lifetime winnings (online and live combined).
