Wang Drops Another

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Michael Wang opened from the cutoff, Joseph Andino called in the small blind and the dealer spread out {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} on the flop.

Andino checked to Wang who continued and Andino check-shoved all in for around 800,000. Wang snap-called and the two turned over their hands with Andino at risk.

Joseph Andino: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Michael Wang: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The {10-Diamonds} landed as a turn card, giving Andino a straight draw to stay alive. A {q-Clubs} river was of no help for Andino as Wang took down the pot with his straight, knocking Andino out of the tournament.

Michael Wang
Michael Wang

Michael Wang completed the small blind and a player in the big blind checked behind. The dealer spread out {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} on the flop and Wang led out for 40,000.

His opponent raised to 100,000, Wang flatted and the {3-Diamonds} peeled off as a turn card. Wang bet 150,000 and his opponent quickly shoved their 530,000 stack into the middle.

Wang snap-called, tabling {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a turned straight and the current nuts. His opponent was drawing dead when they revealed {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Wang took down the pot, without having to sweat the {q-Diamonds} river card.
