The 2019 Borgata Poker Open (BPO) will feature 23 events from September 3-20, and today PokerNews begins the first of 18 straight days of live updates starting with Event #1: $600 Deepstack Kick-Off.
The tournament features a $1,000,000 guarantee and will hold six starting flights. Today, Day 1a will begin at 11 a.m. local time followed by 1b at 5 p.m. tonight. The tournament does allow for best stack forward, so even if players make it through either of today's flights they can fire any of the additional flights.

Players will start with 25,000 in chips and late registration and re-entries will be available through Level 12. Levels 1-16 will last 30 minutes each, while Levels 17 and beyond will be 50 minutes each. Day 3 will see levels increase to one hour. The Day 1 flights are scheduled to play until the end of Level 16 or at the tournament director's discretion.

This tournament has traditionally been one of the biggest on the East Coast as evidenced by last year’s event, which drew 3,106 entries. Justin Leeds won that tournament as part of a four-way deal that saw everyone lock up $170,535 in prize money.

The stop will culminate with the World Poker Tour (WPT) Borgata Poker Open Championship, a $3,500 buy-in tournament with a $3,000,000 guarantee from September 15-20. Last year, that tournament attracted 1,075 entries and offered up a $3,441,075 prize pool. In the end, it was Erkut Yilmaz besting Timothy Miles to capture the title and $575,112 prize.
It will mark the 17th time the WPT has held the Borgata Poker Open Championship, which dates all the way back to Season II in 2003. Past winners include the late Noli Francisco, Daniel Negreanu, Mark Newhouse, Vivek Rajkumar, Olivier Busquet, Anthony Zinno, and Darren Elias.

Dan DaConti is a on of the Borgata regulars who's on the felt early here in Flight A. He's fresh off a nice score at Parx Big Stax XXX last month, where he finished 4th in a field of 1,224 runners for $32,733.
That's his second-best all-time cash, coming in behind his $98,181 cash when he won the March 2018 Parx Big Stax $500 NLH event. His lifetime earnings have topped $300,000.

Sal Busacca has one Borgata Open trophy at home, thanks to his win in the 2017 Spring Poker Open Second Chance Semi-Turbo NLH event. He bested a field of 80 entrants to take $23,000 in a heads-up adjusted payout agreement with Frank Simone, who walked away with $19,000.
That was Sal's first and only win here at Borgata and is also his best live cash, but his lifetime earnings have exceeded $327,000.

With around 3,000 in the pot and three players in the hand, the flop read when Patton Lewis checked from middle position and the player in the cutoff did the same. The player on the button then bet 1,600 and both his opponents called.
All three players checked the turn and the double paired the board on the river. Lewis opted to lead out for a hefty 6,000 and the cutoff folded. The player on the button just called with the for tens full of sevens, but it was no good as Lewis rolled over the for quads!
"At least you left me alive because I would have been out of here," the player on the button said as Lewis stacked the pot.
