Desouza Cracks Kings and Then Wins with Them

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

With around 36,000 already in the middle and a flop of {5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, Agnor Desouza got his last 12,700 all in against an opponent who happened to have the exact same amount.

Desouza: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Desouza went with his flush draw, and while he didn't complete it on the {a-Clubs} turn, the bullet was just as good as it gave him the lead. The {2-Diamonds} river brought in the diamond flush and Desouza scored the knockout.

Not long after, Maryland's Greg Reeves got his short stack all in on a flop containing a jack holding {j-}{9-} against Desouza, who had {k-}{k-}, Reeves failed to get lucky and headed to the registration desk to re-enter.

James Takes It on the River

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

The player in the hijack raised to 1,000 and the cutoff called. Desmond James came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the flop, which came down {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

James checked, the hijack continued for 2,000, and the cutoff got out of the way. James then woke up with a check-raise to 4,400 and the hijack called to see the {2-Clubs} turn.

Both players checked and the {8-Spades} completed the board on the river. James led out for 4,400 and that did the trick as his opponent wasted little time in folding.

Gross Doubles Through Passantino

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

With around 8,000 in the pot and a board reading {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs}, action exploded between Sheldon Gross and Frank Passantino that resulted in the former getting all in for 29,500.

"If you've got the clubs you've got me," Passantino said before the cards were turned up.

Passantino: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Gross: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Passantino held a set of ladies but Gross did in fact have the clubs. Passatino was looking to pair the board on the river to score the knock out, but it wasn't in the cards as the {6-Spades} bricked to give Gross a big double.
