The final Event #1: $600 Deepstack Kick Offflight is in the books and after sixteen levels of play it's Greg Himmelbrand leading the way with 626,000.
Himmelbrand vaulted to the top of the counts late in the night and secured a sizable pot in the last hand of play to bag the Day 1f chip lead.
There were 778 entries on Day 1f bringing the combined Event #1 total to 2,503 entries over six starting flights.
The chips were flying in the Event Center and there was certainly no shortage of action.
Some of the big stacks and day 1f players that are advancing includeJackob Datashvili (431,000), Murod Shaturaev (400,000), Damon Ferrante (337,000), Phong "VIP" Nguyen (300,000), James Calderaro (276,000), Nick Palma (191,000), Ryan DePaulo (132,000) and Mukul Pahuja (132,000).
There were plenty of big-name pros and Borgata regulars that fell by the wayside today failing to move on to day two. Mike Dentale, Victor Ramdin, Moe Farah, Ruth Ruffman, Joe Palma and Carlos Alvarado were among the day 1f players to hit the rail.
Approximately 335 combined Day 1a-f survivors are advancing to day two and play will resume at noon local time in the Event Center. Sridhar Sangannagari (Day 1b) will return as the overall chip leader with a massive stack of 810,000.

The day 1f Event 1 players are now on a 15-minute color up break. This is the last break of the night and there will be just one more level of play remaining when play resumes.
The combined day 1a-f survivors will then return on Friday September 6 at 12 PM to resume day two play.

A player in early position limped in and Joe Reddick raised to 9,500 from the button. Nick Palma called from the small blind and the early position player called.
They went three handed to the flop and Palma checked. The early position player bet 23,000 and Reddick moved all-in covering both players.
Palma called for his last 63,000 and the early position player folded.
Reddick showed for top pair and a flush draw and he would need to improve against the of Palma. The turn and river were no help to Reddick and Palma earned the double up.

Jeff Maynard and Mike Dentale were heads up on the board and Maynard checked. Dentale bet 10,500 into a main pot of about 12,000 and Maynard called.
Both players checked the river and Dentale turned over his for a pair of sixes.
Maynard did one better turning over for a pair of sevens and that was enough to take the pot.

The action folded around to the player in the hijack who raised to 9,000. Nick Palma moved all in from the small blind for 43,000 and the big blind folded. The player in the hijack quickly called and the hands were shown.
