The first of six starting flights in the 2019 Borgata Poker Open Event #10: $400 Almighty Stack NLH drew 346 entrants, but after 17 levels of play 74 remained. Leading the Flight A pack with 1.547 million was Spencer Champlin, who was fresh off cashing for $20K as a part of a four-way deal in Event #4: $400 Saturday Series Deepstack.

Others to bag big were Frank Funaro (1,317,000), Frank Lo (1,209,000), Matthew Mendez (1,136,000), and John McGuinness (991,000). They were joined by Josias Santos (986,000), Paul Freedman (671,000), Spencer Davies (543,000), Jimmy Lee (510,000), Bob Van Syckle (259,000), and John O’Neal (101,000).

Pocket Rockets Propel Rogers to a Double

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
John Rogers
John Rogers

John Rogers got his stack of 121,000 all in preflop and was in prime shape to score a late-night double.

Rogers: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Opponent: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Rogers was just looking to dodge a four or some other such tomfoolery, and that's just what he did as the board ran out [10hqs7sqha] to give him full boat.

Santos Playing Big-Stack Poker

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Josias Santos
Josias Santos

After the player in the hijack opened for 20,000 and the player in the cutoff called, Josias Santos three-bet it to 80,000 from the small blind.

The original raiser called, the cutoff got out of the way, and it was heads-up action to the {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop.

Santos was first to act and wasted little time in putting his big stack to use by moving all in. His opponent quickly folded.
