Thomas Tolbert Eliminated in 4th Place ($16,117)

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Thomas Tolbert
Thomas Tolbert

Derek Staib opened from the button to 275,000 and Thomas Tolbert moved all in for around 1,525,000. Staib called and the two tabled their cards in what could be Tolbert's last hand of the tournament.

Thomas Tolbert: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Derek Staib: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The flop fell {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and Staib's set of nines pushed him into a comfortable position to eliminate Tolbert. The turn came down a {j-Diamonds} and Tolbert was not drawing dead to the {j-Hearts} river card. Staib pulled in the pot with his full house and Tolbert took an exit in third place.

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

The flop read {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and there was around 500,000 in the pot. Thomas Tolbert checked to Zach Gruneberg who bet 250,000 and Tolbert check-raised to 600,000.

Gruneberg instantly moved all in and Tolbert hit the tank. Ultimately Tolbert released his hand to the three-bet of Grunerberg who took down the pot, leaving Tolbert as the table short stack.

Santiago Vila Eliminated in 5th Place ($12,847)

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Santiago Vila
Santiago Vila

Santiago Vila moved all in for around 1,300,000 from under the gun and Derek Staib called from the button.

Santiago Vila: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Derek Staib: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

"I feel good about this," said Vila as his tournament life was at stake again for the second time in a few hands.

The dealer spread out {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Staib took a commanding lead. "Nevermind!" muttered Vila as he stood up out of his seat.

A {2-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn and Vila was not drawing to a chop. The {7-Spades} completed the board and Staib took down the pot with his flopped ace, sending Vila out the door in fifth place for a respectable $12,847.

Vila and Gruneberg Flip

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Santiago Vila moved all in for 775,000 and Zach Gruneberg called, players tabled their cards with Vila at risk.

Santiago Vila: {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Zach Gruneberg: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

"Alright, Alright, Alright! A race is good in this spot," said Vila as he stood up and awaited his fate. The dealer spread out {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} on the flop and Vila took the lead with his flopped jack.

A {4-Spades} peeled off on the turn, giving Gruneberg a straight draw to send Vila out the door but the {a-Clubs} was not it and Vila secured himself a double through Gruneberg with his flopped pair of jacks.

Gino Gesso Eliminated in 6th Place ($10,628)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Gino Gesso
Gino Gesso

Derek Staib limped from the small blind and Gino Gesso checked his option in the big blind just moments after losing over half of his stack to Arnaldo Gordon.

The dealer fanned out {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} on the flop, Staib checked to Gesso who moved all in for 920,000 and Staib snap-called.

Gino Gesso: {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Derek Staib: {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Gesso was in great shape to double up with his higher flush draw as then the dealer burned and turned a {6-Hearts}, giving Staib some straight outs. The lucky {10-Spades} landed on the river, completing the straight for Staib who pulled in the pot, eliminating the start of day chipleader from the tournament.

Tolbert Knocks Gordon Down a Peg

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Arnaldo Gordon raised to 200,000 from middle position and Thomas Tolbert then pushed in a three-bet of 580,000. Gordon moved all in and Tolbert snapped for his 2,345,000 stack, putting him at risk of elimination.

Thomas Tolbert: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Arnaldo Gordon: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

The flop was devastating for Tolbert as the dealer turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, giving Gordon three bullets. Tolbert stood out of his seat and the dealer flipped over a {j-Clubs}, slowing him down as he was getting ready to leave.

A {2-Clubs} peeled off on the river and Tolbert instantly sat back down, nailing his runner-runner flush to take down the pot for a complete double through Gordon, taking over the chip lead in the process.
