James Brady earned his best live cash of $53,410 right here in this event two years ago, during the 2017 Borgata Poker Open $600 Deep Stack Kick Off. He finished 7th out of 3,570 entrants, at a tough final table that included the likes of Nick Pupillo, Greg Himmelbrand, LJ Sande, and eventual winner Marshall White.

He proved he's got what it takes to close when he took first place and $23,271 in the 2018 Spring Poker Open $400 Monster Stack NLH event, negotiating the top prize and trophy in a six-way deal.

His lifetime earnings have topped $166,000 and he's hoping to add some more to his bankroll here today.

DeVore Pushes Opponent Off Hand

On the river with a scary double-paired board reading , Sundiata DeVore (middle) moved all-in for 27,000, putting his opponent in Seat 2 (cutoff) to the test.

After taking a minute or so, Seat 2 send his cards vigorously into the muck. DeVore pulled the pot without showdown.

Another Poker Writer Who Plays

Barbara Rogers is another lady who writes about poker and also knows her way around the felt. She's been writing articles for Card Player since 2014, but she's been booking tournament cashes since 2011.

Her best live cash of $11,862 was for a sixth place finish in the 2017 Delaware Poker Championship $550 NLH event. Her best finish here at Borgata was in the 2015 June DeepStacks Challenge series $300 Deeper Stack NLH event, when her second place result earned her $9,363.
