Prince Dodges Quads

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Dong Ji
Dong Ji

Dong Ji and Jean "Prince" Gaspard got to the river with a board of {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Ji bet 121,000, sending Gaspard into the tank — he burned a couple of time chips in the process.

After counting out the chips to call and considering his action, he finally whipped his cards into the muck. Ji obligingly showed his hand — {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for quads — and Gaspard sighed in relief.

"I had a pocket pair," Gaspard admitted.

Prociak Felts Mendez

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Matt Mendez
Matt Mendez

In a battle between WSOP bracelet holders, Matt Mendez got his last ~285,000 chips in holding {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} against the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} of David Prociak.

At the river, the final board read {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} giving both players straights, but Prociak had Broadway for the nut straight. He chipped up to about 730,000, while Mendez reported to the rail.

Mike McGuinness
Mike McGuinness

Patrick Eskandar got his last ~200,000 chips in holding pocket sevens, but ran into the pocket Queens held by Mike McGuinness.

The board brought nothing but bricks and McGuinness took the pot, chipping up to about 550,000.

Eskandar hit the rail in 106th place ($6,399).

Break Time Big Stacks

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
David Farah
David Farah

As of the break, David Farah had pulled into the chip lead with more than 1.7 million, edging out Justin Liberto, who's playing about 1.5 million.

Farah made the final table of the 2019 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open back in January, a final table that played out in April under the lights and cameras at the Luxor Esports Arena Las Vegas. He ended up with a second-place finish ($485,611) in that event and would love some redemption here in this Championship.

Liang Doubles Thru Ramdin

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Michael Liang
Michael Liang

Victor Ramdin opened from the cutoff, then Michael Liang jammed for 105,000 from the button. Ramdin made a "what the hell" call, tabling {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Liang's {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} was ahead and the board of {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades} sealed his double-up with a King on the river.

Liang doubled to about 235,000 and no noticeable dent was put in Ramdin's big stack.
