Break

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

The day 1c Event #1 players are now on a 15-minute break. We will pick right back up on all of the live tournament action when play resumes.

McKnight Continues to Climb

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player in the small blind opened up to 2,400 and Ryan McKnight defended his big blind. The dealer fanned out {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} on the flop and action checked to McKnight who bet 1,900.

His opponent called to see the {7-Hearts} turn card and tapped the table again to McKnight who fired in 3,200. Again his opponent called and the {q-Clubs} landed on the river, completing the board.

Action fell on McKnight, he reached for chips and put in a bet of 15,200. His opponent released and McKnight pulled in another pot halfway through the day.

A player in late position limped in and Neal Patel raised to 2,300 from the hijack. The player in the cutoff called and Eric Siegel moved all in for 10,200 from the big blind.

It folded back to Patel who re-shoved all in for about 40,000 and the player in the cutoff folded.

Eric Siegel: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Neal Patel: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The dealer fanned the {q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop and Siegel paired his queen in the window to take the lead. The turn {6-Diamonds} and river {8-Hearts} were no help to Patel and Siegel earned the double up.

Day 2 of the 2020 Borgata Winter Poker Open here at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City began at 11 a.m. local time with the second starting flight of the $600 Deep Stack Kick-Off in the Event Center. The third flight, Day 1c, will begin at 5 p.m. in the rear of room right in front of Media Row and be a repeat of Day 1b, which is still in progress in the front of the Event Center.

Of the 405 entries in Flight A yesterday, 65 players have already punched their tickets to Day 2. It remains to be seen how many will join them from Flight B and registration remains open for that flight until about 5:45 p.m.

With a whopping $2 Million Guarantee on total buy-ins, many more entries are expected tonight and tomorrow in the final two starting flights. The 2019 BWPO Kick-Off saw 5,130 entries to easily surpass the guarantee. Amateur player Pascal Zaklama walked away with $328,695 and the trophy to score his biggest live cash by far.

Late registration and unlimited re-entries for Flight C are available until the start of level 13 (about 11:45 p.m.). All players will start with a full 25,000 stack and they will play fifteen 30-minute levels tonight. The remaining players will then bag up their chips for the night (about 1:30 a.m.).

The final two starting flights, D and E, will start at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. respectively on Thursday, January 16. The survivors of all five starting flights will combine on Friday, January 17, at 11 a.m. for Day 2 to battle it out for their spot on Day 3, Saturday beginning at 12 noon.
