Wilson Leaves Failla Short

Level 33 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Will Failla raised to 1,800,000 in the cutoff. John Wilson announced "900" in the small blind and attempted to raise, but a tournament official ruled he had to just call.

Both players checked the JQ5 flop. Failla then bet 4,000,000 on the 2 turn, and Wilson called.

The river was the K and Failla bet 5,000,000. Wilson quickly called, and Failla showed A6. Wilson turned over AK for a rivered pair to win the pot.

"Couldn't win it any other way. Good river. You got more that way," Failla told him.

John Wilson opened to 1,700,000 under the gun and Michael Mann flatted in middle position. In the cutoff, Yuriy Kudrynskyy squeezed to 5,800,000. Wilson quickly got out of the way, but Mann took some time before he announced all in for 24,800,000, and Kudrynskyy snapped it off, covering by 900,000.

Michael Mann: JJ All in
Yuriy Kudrynskyy: AA

Kudrynskyy woke up with the goods as Mann needed to find a jack to survive. The 632 flop offered no help to Mann, and the KQ runout could not save him as the wrong paint appeared, and his run ended in ninth.

Wilson Triples Up

Level 33 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

John Wilson moved all in for 9,200,000 in middle position and Michael Mann called on the button, as did Toby Gafner in the big blind.

Gafner and Mann checked to the river on a board of 381034. "I'm such a fish," Mann said as they checked again, and Wilson showed Q8 for two pair. Mann mucked A5, while Gafner also sent AQ into the muck and Wilson scooped the pot to triple up.

Yuriy Kudrynskyy

Yuriy Kudrynskyy opened to 1,200,000 under the gun and was called by Will Failla in the small blind and Baruch Fishman in the big blind.

On the 532 flop, Failla led from 2,000,000, Fishman folded, and Kudrynskyy called.

Failla then checked on the K turn, Kudrynskyy bet 3,500,000, and Failla called.

On the J river, Failla checked a final time to Kudrynskyy who bet 7,500,000, about two-thirds of his remaining stack, and over half of Failla's remaining stack. The table witnessed a rare tank from Failla, who eventually elected to fold after nearly two minutes.

"You really turn the ace-king on me?" Failla asked, "Or a bluff? You don't wanna talk about it?"

"Are you scared of me?" he continued, "I would be, too."
