The first and only starting flight of the $2,100 Bounty Event as part of The Return - A Borgata Championship Event wrapped up following the burst of the money bubble and saw Jason Lee bagging the chip lead with just over 1,000,000, followed by Nir Cohen with 715,000. They will join 52 other players who are in the money and guaranteed a minimum cash of $1,940.

The Bounty Event, which played out in the area around Day 2 of $5,300 The Return, attracted 500 runners across the eight levels of registration and generated a prize pool of $485,000, not including the $1,000 bounty chip given to every player.

Some others who survived to see the money include Ren Lin (338,000), Andrew Ostapchenko (366,000), Christian Harder (72,000), World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champ Ryan Riess (52,000) and Soukha Kachittavong (285,000), who earlier this week made a deep run in $2,200 Mystery Bounty Event.

The atmosphere was electric in the tournament area as players gambled for bounties and traded chips. The energetic and rambunctious Steven Buckner ran hot early and picked up multiple $1,000 bounties, including when he flopped quad jacks to have an unfortunate opponent drawing dead.

Further demonstrating "Cuz's" presence at the table was a hand where the Florida grinder raised all in on the river and placed one of his cards on his forehead as his opponent made a decision. The opponent ended up folding and Buckner tabled the nut straight. Despite the hot start, Buckner was eliminated as the night wound down.

Another highlight of the day was when Francis Anderson, who finished eighth in the Mystery Bounty event for $104,084, got it in with pocket jacks against the queen-nine of Sung "Frankie the Fish" Lee. Anderson managed to flop of a set of jacks but a gutshot left the door open for Lee to win the hand, and an unlucky river card sent Anderson packing.

"Frankie the Fish" continued to run well throughout the night and bagged a stack of 20 big blinds.

Day 2 action will get underway at 1 p.m. local time with 26 minutes left to play of Level 17 with blinds of 4,000/8,000/8,000. The day is scheduled to play down to a winner, who will take home the top prize of $120,753.

Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back tomorrow for more updates in the $2,100 Bounty Event.
