Welcome to Day 3 of the 2017 Cash Game Festival Malta at Casino Malta by Olympic Casino.

Day's 1 and 2 were huge and Day 3 is bound to only be even bigger and better as the weekend approaches. Some new, but familiar faces, have come just for the weekend including Finland's Veli-Matti Puumala, who came straight from the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas to get in on the fun.

As the sun came up to start the day, there were a handful of tables still running from the afternoon before including a Sviten Special table that included Cash Game Festival's Tony Hitrov, Guts.com Poker Coordinator Lars Erik Isaksen and Cash Game Festival regular Trumulis from Latvia.

Many players are already enjoying poker in the casino while others are enjoying the perfect weather and the sunshine that Malta is well-known for.

As will be the case during all five days of the Cash Game Festival Malta, Brandon Allen will host two televised feature tables with co-hosts popping in and out of the booth. The first table kicks off at 5:40 p.m. CEST and will be streamed on a 20-minute delay with stakes at €1/€2 no-limit on the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel as well as will be broadcasted across multiple media outlets including PokerNews.

Later in the day, there will also be a higher-stakes no-limit hold'em televised feature table on a 20-minute delay at 8:40 p.m. CEST.

In addition, players with the hospitality package will be enjoying a special treat. The festival is hosting a VIP dinner at 6 p.m., that according to Cash Game Festival Project Manager Andro Loos will be the most amazing dinner experience in Cash Game Festival history. Loos didn't want to give any spoilers about where they are heading, but it is likely to be special considering all of the other hosted dinners are always raved about.

The PokerNews Live Reporting is on hand to report on all the excitement during Day 3 starting at around 5 p.m. CEST complete with recaps, quotes, pictures and videos.

Veli-Matti Puumala Playing For Free Coffee

Players are beginning to file into the casino. One of the more interesting tables involves Cash Game Festival regulars Michael Fletcher and Veli-Matti Puumala battling it out on a €1/€2 no-limit hold'em table.

Both players shared that they plan on just getting a quick session in before heading off to the VIP dinner. Puumala shared that he is "playing for the free coffee."

Maxime Roseau Headlines the Feature Table

The feature table has just begun, headlined by Maxime Roseau, the Cash Game Festival Vlogger and French Blogger. Roseau shared he hasn't had what he would describe as one biggest experience, but he loves the happiness spread in the game. He explained that he has been playing poker for four years and is passionate about the game and everything that happens behind the scenes.

Here is a look at the other players starting off the action.

Norway's Simen Thomassen, in Seat 1, has been playing poker for five years. He joked (or not?) that his biggest achievement is that he had a winning session in 2014.

British engineers, Peter Cox is in Seat 2. This is his second feature table experience of the festival and shared that he isn't nervous about being at the feature table.

Cash Game Festival's Tony Hitrov is in Seat 3. Hitrov is usually the man behind the curtain, helping out the technical efforts of making sure the poker stream is set-up properly and runs smoothly. He also has a passion for poker and was playing at the casino last night until the sun came up.

Latvia's Luba is in Seat 6. She shared her best success in poker was once winning a Unibet DSO event. This is her first televised poker experience, but she didn't look nervous. She later confirmed that she is looking forward to having fun and isn't worried about the lights and camera.

Fellow Latvian Sergei is in Seat 7. Like Luba, he has never appeared on the feature table under the lights and camera. Unlike Luba, he shared he is a bit nervous.

The action will be streamed on a 20-minute delay with stakes at €1/€2 no-limit on the Cash Game Festival website and by clicking on the Live Stream tab in our PokerNews coverage.

Lions & Other Exotic Animals at the Cash Game Festival?

We heard from Cash Game Festival's Inga Raudsepp that there are lions and other exotic animals in attendance at the VIP dinner. We believe they are behind bars and safely away from the group attending the dinner. We will learn more about this later when the more than a couple of dozen people that attended return to the casino.

Cash Game Festival's Maxime Roseau was low on the chips at the feature table. He thought in a hand where there was a straddle he found a spot with pocket twos and three-bet jammed against an opener who had pocket kings.

Unfortunately for Roseau his hand didn't get there and he got up from his seat to give another player the chance to appear in the spotlight.
