Miller Loses a Coin Flip To Bust

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Andrew Miller
Andrew Miller

Mike Kenny raised in middle position to 12,000 over an under-the-gun limp from Rich Dixon. Andrew Miller re-jammed on the button for around 40,000 and action folded back to Kenny, who called.

Andrew Miller: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Mike Kenny: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Miller was unable to hold through a runout of {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}, as the turn gave Kenny a pair of aces to send Miller to the rail. Jason Welch was also eliminated from an adjacent table recently, with the pair of eliminations bringing the field down to 20.

Burns Doubles Through Parker

Level 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Scott Burns
Scott Burns

A short-stacked Scott Burns open-jammed in the small blind and saw Edwin Parker call in the big blind.

Scott Burns: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Edwin Parker: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Burns needed to win the coin flip to stay alive and found help on the flop {7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. The turn {5-Hearts} and river {4-Spades} fell safely behind to complete the runout and the double was shipped his way.

Kenny Shoots One Down

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Mike Kenny
Mike Kenny

Mike Kenny was in the small blind and found himself facing an open-jam for 46,500 from the cutoff. He was happy to participate.

All-In Player: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Mike Kenny: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

A ten in the window of {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs} provided a small sweat, but running {3-Spades}{2-Clubs} left his bullets best and sent his opponent to the showers.

Twenty-two players now remain, with Keith Wright and John Smith also having been eliminated earlier in the level.

Johnson Stays Alive

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Peter Johnson
Peter Johnson

Rich Dixon open-limped in middle position and saw Bobby Garcia limp behind in the cutoff. Svetlana Martie completed her small blind and Peter Johnson checked his option in the big blind, taking action four ways to a flop of {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Martie checked and then Johnson jammed all in for 30,000. Dixon found a call and both players behind folded.

Peter Johnson: {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Rich Dixon: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

"I never thought he'd do that with a four," said Dixon after seeing Johnson's hand. Drawing slim, the turn {9-Hearts} gave him the most amount of outs possible to send Johnson packing. The river then came {3-Hearts}, improving both players with Dixon's nut flush remaining second best to Johnson's full house.

Brian Wienhoff: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
