Top Pair Good for Moscati

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Vincent Moscati
Vincent Moscati

A player had put in 6,000 under the gun and was facing a raise to 14,000 from Vincent Moscati on a board reading {7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} with a small pile of chips already in the center. The player thought for about 10 seconds and then called.

The under-the-gun player checked the river {2-Diamonds} and Moscati checked behind, taking the hand to showdown where Moscati's opponent showed {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a missed nut-flush draw and double gutshot straight draw. Moscati tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for top pair and it was good to earn him the pot.

Bowden Bows Out

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The seat that Daniel Bowden formerly occupied was just seen empty and he confirmed with PokerNews that his tournament run came to an end after he got the last of his chips into the middle with pocket fours, only to run them into pocket kings.

Bowden earned his entry via satellite and built his stack up to over 70,000 early in the day, but found himself on the wrong end of a few coolers and was unable to survive when all was said and done.

"That's poker," added Bowden with a smile as he made his way from the tournament room.

Keeline Cracks Cowboys

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Ben Keeline

The cutoff opened to 2,500 and received calls from both the small blind and Ben Keeline, who defended his big blind. Action checked through {6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and the turn came {8-Spades}. The small blind checked again and Keeline bet 4,300, receiving a call from the original raiser and a fold from the small blind.

Action was then heads up as the river fell {3-Diamonds} and Keeline bet another 14,700. His opponent raised to 35,000 and Keeline re-jammed for a covering amount. The player called.

Ben Keeline: {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Keeline's backdoor double gutshot straight draw completed to crack his opponent's set of kings and a massive pot was sent in his direction, making him one of the largest stacks in the room with less than 40 minutes before dinner break.

Harvey Gets a Much-Needed Double

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Steve Harvey

Nader Wahdan limped in early position and action folded around to the big blind, where Steve Harvey shoved for 9,300. Wahdan called.

Steve Harvey: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Nader Wahdan: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The runout {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades} gave both players aces up, with Harvey's queen remaining best to earn him the double.

"Nice hand, sir," said tablemate Ryan Dodson.

"Thank you," responded Harvey. "I needed it!"
