Welcome to Day 1b of the August 2019 Colorado Poker Championship Main Event

The August 2019 Colorado Poker Championship $1,100 Main Event resumes today with the second of three initial flights inside the Golden Gates Casino and Poker Parlour.

Yesterday’s Day 1a flight drew 81 entries with 15 players paving the way to Sunday’s Day 2. The day lasted nearly 12 hours in total and upon its completion, Wendy Freedman found herself with a massive chip lead.

In the last level of the night, Freedman found herself near the top of the leader board before getting a full double up with a full house to Will Givens’ straight, who was the chip leader at the time. She then busted him and continued to build from there, finishing the day putting 597,500 chips into a bag, more than double that of second-place’s Al Hart (265,000).

Day 1b boasts the same fantastic structure as the first heat, with 30,000 in chips and 40-minute levels to start. There will be 15-minute breaks at the completion of every three levels and a 45-minute dinner break after Level 9. After the final break, levels will increase to one hour in length for the last two hours and two levels of the night.

Unlimited re-entries are available until the end of the dinner break following Level 9. Any players who are not fortunate enough to advance today will also have the option to return tomorrow for the final flight of the tournament. From there, the field will combine on Sunday at 11 a.m. for Day 2.

Cards are set to fly at noon local time. PokerNews will be on the floor bringing you updates all tournament long.
