Anders Bjorkheim opened to 2,300 in the hijack. Einar Einarsson was in the cutoff and three-bet to 6,000, which Bjorkheim called.
After the 4♥8♣9♣ flop had been checked by both, Bjorkheim bet 5,500 on the 7♦ turn. Einarsson called after some thought, after which the 2♠ river was checked to showdown.
Einarsson tabled 5♠5♥ for a pair, and it won him the pot as Einarsson mucked. One hand later, Einarsson was eliminated from Day 1b.

Thorsrud continued for 3,500 on the J♣8♣8♠ flop. Stai check-called, after which the 2♠ turn was checked through. Stai bet 8,500 on the 5♣ river.
Thorsrud tried to get some information out of her opponent, but she called when she received no response. Stai revealed A♠J♥ for jacks and eights, and Thorsrud mucked her hand in defeat.
Not much later, Thorsrud was eliminated by Stai in another hand.
The pot contained 12,000 when Erik Sonsteby got his stack of 14,400 in on the 7♠4♠9♦ flop against Lauri Tuominen.

In a pot of 32,000, Leif Iversen and Magnus Kristiansen had reached the 4♦7♠7♥7♦A♣ river. Iversen checked it to Kristiansen, who fired a bet of 15,500.
Iversen took some time to think it through, then called. Kristiansen showed A♠5♣ for a rivered full house, and a frustrated Iversen slammed his fist on the table as she showed he had been ahead with 10♠10♦ until the river.
Teemu Salminen had shipped in his 17,000 from the small blind, and Jarno Makela looked him up on the button.
