In the 920th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Ben Ludlow are all at Level 9 Studios in Las Vegas to talk a little but about WSOP champ and the most recent member of the Poker Hall of Fame Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, who actually sat down with Chad at the Venetian to talk about his new "Grinder's Game" cash game and the upcoming World Tournament of Slots (WTOS).
They then discuss David Coleman winning the Poker Masters purple jacket, Jason Koon's bad beat, Shaun Deeb capturing his WSOP bracelet, and other winners from the WSOP Europe. Speaking of winners, Jeremy Gaubert took down the RGPS Grand Prix New Orleans, Josh Arieh and Nick Palma both won online bracelets, and Bridget Johnson was victorious in the RPT Tri-State Poker Championship.
Finally, Chad reveals another code word for this year's NAPT Gold Pass giveaway valued at $10,000, and goes one-on-one with Chris Bilinsky, a Gold Pass winner who's already booked his ticket to Las Vegas. There are not many up for grabs this year, so you won't want to miss out on this limited opportunity to win one just by listening to the PokerNews Podcast and MSPT Podcast Presented By PokerNews.
The 39 remaining players have been sent on a dinner break, which has been reduced to 60 minutes due to the late start.
The action will resume around 9:25 p.m. local time.
Several people had limped in when Imad Derwiche made it 24,000 in the big blind. Gergo Nagy called in the hijack, and Andreas Thelin did so on the button.
Derwiche bet the pot of 84,000 on the 5♣7♠K♣ flop. Nagy called all-in for 47,500, and Thelin bought a turn as well. Derwiche then jammed his stack of 160,000 in on the 9♣ turn, being snap-called by Thelin.
Gergo Nagy: A♥K♠Q♠5♠
Imad Derwiche: K♥J♥10♣7♣
Andreas Thelin: A♣J♦8♣3♦
Thelin had turned the nut flush. Derwiche and Nagy still had outs to a full house, but the A♠ river did not pair the board, eliminating them both just before dinner.
From middle position, Jeremy Trojand slammed a pot-sized bet of 127,000 on the 4♦2♣9♥ flop. Erik Friberg spent some time in the tank before he called, putting himself all in for 117,500.
Erik Friberg: A♥K♦J♥6♦
Jeremy Trojand: K♠10♥Q♦9♦
The 4♣5♣ runout was of no help to Friberg, eliminating him on his first attempt in the tournament.
Enrico Rudelitz moved his final 45,000 chips over the line on a K♠5♦10♦ flop, and was up against Carlo van Ravenswoud, who was chipleading the table.
Enrico Rudelitz: A♥Q♦6♥3♦
Carlo van Ravenswoud: 10♠10♥5♥2♣
Rudelitz had plenty of outs with his draws, but none arrived on the Q♥ turn or 9♣ river. He was sent to the exit, seeing Van Ravenswoud chip up to nearly four start stacks.
