A hand after the elimination of Gergo Nagy, Amir Mozaffarian and Leonid Yanovski saw a flop of 9♥2♦10♣ where Mozaffarian got his last 1,250,000 in the middle from the cutoff and Yanovski put him at risk in the big blind.
Amir Mozaffarian: K♥J♦J♣7♠
Leonid Yanovski: K♦Q♦Q♣3♥
Yanovski was ahead with his queens, while Mozaffarian had a straight draw. The turn was the 10♦, while the 4♥ fell on the river to send Mozaffarian to the rail in 11th place.
Heads-up on a flop of 7♣5♠4♦, Vitalijs Korhs bet 250,000 from the big blind and Gergo Nagy moved all in for 1,025,000 on the button. Korhs took several minutes until calling to put Nagy at risk.
Gergo Nagy: K♦K♣10♥8♥
Vitalijs Korhs: 10♣9♦7♦3♦
Nagy was ahead with his kings, but the 6♥ turn gave Korhs a straight. The river was the 7♠ and Nagy was eliminated in 12th place.
Vitalijs Korhs raised to 175,000 in the cutoff and Youness Barakat reraised to 605,000 in the small blind. Korhs called and the flop came A♣4♣2♠.
Barakat then potted to 1,400,000 and Korhs quickly folded.
The next hand, Korhs again opened to 175,000 and Barakat called on the button. Gergo Nagy moved all in for 520,000 in the big blind, Korhs reraised, and Barakat got out of the way.
Gergo Nagy: 10♣9♣8♥5♥
Vitalijs Korhs: A♠A♣6♣4♦
"I can crack that," Nagy said as Korhs showed down aces. His words proved prophetic, as the board ran out K♠4♠10♦8♠8♦ to give him a full house and the double up.
"That's how I win tournaments," Nagy said.
At the other table, Aki Vihikainen had raised to 200,000 in the hijack and Tomasz Krzesinki reraised to 625,000 on the button. Vihikainen then moved all in and Krzesinski called for 325,000 more.
Krzesinski showed Q♣Q♠7♣Xx, while Vihikainen had A♥K♥J♥Xx as Krzesinski spiked a set on the Q♥J♠6♠ flop. The rest of the board ran out 5♠9♥ and Krzesinski doubled up again.
Amir Mozaffarian raised to 200,000 in the cutoff before Alexander Petersen reraised to 780,000 in the small blind. Hossein Ensan then potted to 2,100,000 in the big blind. "German sandwich," Petersen said. Mozaffarian got out of the way, while Petersen quickly called for an extra 200,000.
Alexander Petersen: K♦J♥10♦7♣
Hossein Ensan: K♠K♣8♠2♠
"I'll take a straight," Petersen said as the flop came 5♦5♠3♥. "Not too many straights there," he added. The rest of the board ran out 6♠8♣ and Petersen was eliminated in 13th place.
Alexander Petersen raised to 175,000 in early position and Leonid Yanovski called on the button. Youness Barakat then reraised to 780,000 in the small blind and only Petersen called.
Barakat moved all in for 1,200,000 on the 8♦6♥3♦ flop and Petersen, shielding his eyes from seeing the flop, stood up and began looking at the cards on the board one by one. "I should play something more connected," he said, but he evidently ended up liking what he saw since he quickly called once he got to the end.
Youness Barakat: A♣A♠Q♠J♥
Alexander Petersen: 7♥6♠5♣4♠
"I have a wrap," Petersen said, showing straight draws against Barakat's aces. "No way I miss this," he added.
The A♦ turn improved Barakat to a set, while the river was the Q♥ and Barakat doubled up.
Alexander Petersen raised to 160,000 in the cutoff and Hossein Ensan reraised to 570,000 on the button. Petersen took a few moments to look over at Ensan's stack before being reminded his countdown had run out, forcing him to use a time bank.
"I'm confused now, so I call. I'm embarrassed that I had to use a time bank," he said as he and Ensan went heads-up to the Q♦10♦3♣ flop. Ensan then moved all in for 725,000. "That's very good when I have the nuts," Petersen said, snap-calling to put Ensan at risk.
Hossein Ensan: A♦K♣4♠3♦
Alexander Petersen: Q♣Q♠2♣2♥
Petersen had flopped top set, but Ensan had both straight and flush draws. The J♠ turn gave him his straight, while the 7♦ river also gave him a flush to double up.
Heads-up on a flop of 7♣K♠A♦, Tomasz Krzesinski moved all in for 425,000 on the button and Artur Teshaev put him at risk in the big blind.
Tomasz Krzesinski: A♣K♥J♥9♠
Artur Teshaev: Q♥J♠10♦4♠
Krzesinski had top two pair, while Teshaev was on a straight draw. The 3♠ turn was safe for Krzesinski, while the 7♦ on the river secured his double up.
Tom-Aksel Bedell put in a reraise of 400,000 from the button and Filip Lovric called in early position.
The flop came J♣6♥2♥ and Bedell potted to 920,000. Lovric then moved all in and Bedell called for 350,000 more.
Tom-Aksel Bedell: A♣A♦K♣8♠
Filip Lovric: K♥9♥9♦7♦
"Two hearts, no heart," Bedell said once the cards were revealed. He needed his aces to hold against Lovric's flush draw, and the board ran out K♠5♦ to earn him a double up.
"Mama mia, my heart. I knew you had the hearts. I didn't want you to call," Bedell said.
At the other table, Leonid Yanovski bet 365,000 from the big blind on a board of 6♥3♣8♥7♠ and Hossein Ensan raised to 900,000 on the button.
Yanovski called to see the A♥ river, where he bet 550,000. Ensan took a minute before folding as Yanovski took the pot.
Leonid Yanovski raised to 140,000 in early position and was called by Gergo Nagy on the button and big blind Hossein Ensan.
Action checked to the river on a board 7♦5♠3♠J♣Q♣ when Nagy bet 250,000. Only Ensan called.
Nagy instantly mucked and Ensan showed A♠Q♥ as he took the pot.
At the same time as the double knockout earlier, Dominykas Karmazinas was also eliminated by Amir Mozaffarian. As recounted by Alexander Petersen, Karmazinas raised in early position and Mozaffarian called.
The flop came Qx9x2x with two diamonds and Karmazinas potted. Mozaffarian called and they got the rest of Karmazinas' chips in the middle on another deuce on the turn.
Karmazinas had two kings, but Mozaffarian had two aces to win the pot and send Karmainzas to the rail.
"You can quote me and write he played it very badly," Petersen said.
