Players are on their fourth break of the day, this one for 15 minutes. 47 players remain and 26 will advance to Day 2 at the end of the night.
With three players seeing a board of A♦5♦6♥J♥ and about 125,000 in the middle, Joseph Mouwad checked from the small blind, a player in the big blind checked and a player in middle position bet 75,000. Mouwad shoved for about 300,000, forcing a fold from the big blind. The player in middle position thought for a minute before folding A♥10♥ for top pair and the nut-flush draw face up.
Guo Liang Wei and Azamat Tulepbergenov at the same table were visibly shocked to see such a strong hand hit the muck as Mouwad took the pot without showdown.

A player in the hijack open-shoved for about 200,000 and Yury Bochkarev, who had a bit under 150,000, made the call from the big blind to put himself at risk.
Yury Bochkarev: K♦J♣
Opponent: A♥Q♠
Both players connected in a big way on the 10♠A♠Q♥ flop but Bochkarev was well ahead with the nut-straight versus his opponents two pair. Bochkarev remained ahead when the rest of the board ran out 3♠K♣ and received a full double up.

In the 829th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by PokerStars, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Kyna England are back at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to talk about Doug Polk being denied a new poker room in Texas. Check out some highlights and clips from a city council meeting in which Polk went to the podium to plead his case. While some respected what he had to say, some poker players like Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen and Matt Waxman were critical of his motives.
Speaking of Polk, he indicated he might be available to participate in Hustler Casino Live's (HCL) $1,000,000 Cash Game at the end of the month after Ethan "Rampage" Yau dropped out. The latter, who has been on a downswing and recently admitted to shedding tears over a $550K loss, caught some flack for pulling out after asking fans to buy pieces and was the subject of a negative video released by Alex Duvall. Find out what the crew thinks about Rampage's current predicament, including a World Series of Poker (WSOP) challenge issued by Holtz.
Also, learn about Sofie Dossi contorting herself at the Celebrity Poker Tour Invitational III, which was won by Katie Thurston for $20,000, as well as hearing from PokerNews Ambassadors Keith Becker (Pennsylvania) and Kyle Anderson (Ontario). Finally, the crew remembers two-time bracelet winner & music icon Steve Albini, who unexpectedly passed away earlier this week.
A new PokerNews Podcast drops every Friday at 8a PT / 11a ET / 4p UK time. Make sure to subscribe to not miss an episode!
Did you know the PokerNews Podcast is no longer just audio? That's right, we've added a video show as well that you can view on the PokerNews YouTube Channel.

A player from the hijack opened to 25,000 and received calls from Mohamed Mokrani on the button and Savvas Omirou in the big blind.
All three players checked the K♠K♣2♣ flop leading to the 9♣ turn. Action checked around to Mokrani who bet 50,000. Omirou put in a check-raise to 135,000 and the original raiser folded. Mokrani shoved, covering Omirou who had a bit more than 300,000 biehind. Omirou snap-called and was at risk.
Mokrani had made a move at the wrong time with a flush draw and was drawing dead to Omirou who had already made a higher flush than Mokrani was drawing to. The 4♥ river changed nothing and Omirou secured a full double up at Mokrani's expense.
