Sorel Mizzi Eliminated

Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi
Canadian pro and Team Betfair's latest edition, Sorel Mizzi, has just been eliminated from the tournament after back-to-back hands left him crippled and then out.

In the first hand, Sorel opened with a 950 raise from mid-position. Action then folded around to Melek Ertas in the big blind, who then made it 4,000 to go. Mizzi tanked for a bit before subtly sliding a stack of blue and red chips across the betting line, softly announcing, "All in." Ertas made the call and was all in for approximately 11,100. At the showdown, Melek tabled a pocket pair of kings; Sorel showed {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The board ran out {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Ertas' kings held up, leaving Sorel with less than 2,000 in chips.

On the very next hand, Sorel opened with another pre-flop raise, this time making it 900 to go, leaving himself a single stack of green chips (approx. 600 worth) behind. An unknown player to his immediate left then made it an even 2,000 and action folded around the table to Sorel, who made the call holding {A-Clubs}{3-Hearts}; his opponent produced pocket fives. A king-high board sealed the Canadian's fate and he calmly exited the tournament area.
