Gibson Played Well

Nick Gibson, who was earlier telling us that all he wanted in the world was to make the final 24, has gone home disappointed.

He got his dwindling stack in with {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} but was up against Eric Haik's {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} and the {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {K-Spades} board did absolutely nothing for him.

Berry Big Tank...

Michael Berry raised to 35,000 from the button, Martin Gudvangen reraised to 96,000 from the small blind.

So far, so standard.

Then Berry min-reraises to 175,000 and Gudvangen moved all-in!

Berry began to think as a growing media crowd behind him, he then lifted his cards up high, usually a sign that a player is folding. The entire row of media got to see the {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} in his hand, which caused much bemusement.

Eventually though Berry made the call and Gudvangen turned over {A-Spades} {Q-Spades}, the board came {K-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {3-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}. Berry won the huge pot and is now our new chip leader with about 1,800,000.

Caprioli Steams Ahead, Suharto Does Not Donk

Stoical
Stoical
A chunky pot had developed by the time Nikolai Senninger bet out on the river of the {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {10-Spades} {7-Spades} board. Rodrigo Caprioli called, and turned over {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. Senninger mucked, and Caprioli moved up to 1.55 million, rather a lot more than he had last time we checked.

It was at this point that Darus Suharto called your blogger over to explain why he had only 200,000 or so left.

It transpires that Mr. Suharto had raised with {7-Clubs} {8-Clubs} from the button and Caprioli had called. All the chips had gone in on the {10-?} {7-?} {8-?}, two-spades flop and Caprioli turned over {9-Spades} {10-Spades}. Six on the turn, blank on the river.

"At least I don't donk my chips," he said remarkably cheerfully.

Greco Still In...Somehow

It was on Michael Greco's big blind with 16,000 of his 50,000 in the middle and after an early position raise, Greco decided to give up this hand.

The next hand he called all-in against Raymond Wu's button raise, his {J-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} ahead of Wu's {10-Spades} {6-Hearts} and stayed that way after a {Q-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {9-Spades} {6-Spades} {Q-Hearts} board.

Greco shouted, "Now I'm back in business!"

He has five big blinds, around 80,000 chips.

Lichtenberger Kills Jesus

Chris Ferguson was all-in for around 200,000 with {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} against Andrew Lichtenberger's {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. The flop came with the {A-Diamonds} but also the {Q-Hearts} and then followed by the {5-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} and {J-Hearts}.

It also leaves Peter Eastgate as the last WSOP main event winner still in this tournament.
