Thorson and Feldman Double Their Money

Feldman: texting his joy
Feldman: texting his joy
Short stacks are doubling up all over the shop as we near the end of the level.

First off, William Thorson vs. Ilari Sahamies: on a board of {7-Clubs} {2-Spades} {K-Clubs} {3-Hearts} Thorson bet out around 35,000 into a pot of about the same size. Sahamies took more time than I've seen him take all tournament to decided on a course of action -- he raised. Thorson was all in and called then in the blink of an eye, and he was ahead with {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts}. Sahamies with {7-Spades} {6-Spades} paid the man his money.

On the other table, Andrew Feldman had raised preflop and picked up a caller in Florian Langmann. Feldman's {10-Spades} {10-Clubs} hit a set on the flop, and he got his 100,000 or so in easily -- Langmann held {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}! A delighted Feldman stood up, clapped his hands once, and stacked his new chips.
