Hand #104 - Dag Mikkelsen Eliminated in 4th Place (€600,000)

Are those my old chips you have there?
Are those my old chips you have there?
Tulchinskiy makes it 320,000 and de Korver calls. Mikkelsen pushes for just 20,000 more, and they both call.

They check down the {10-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} board and Mikkelsen is not not looking happy; and indeed his {A-Clubs} {8-Hearts} is no good against de Korver's {Q-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} for two pair, and Tulchinskiy's {K-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} is no good either. De Korver wins the pot, and our former gigantic chip leader is our surprise fourth-place finisher.

Hand #103 - Pieter de Korver

Dag Mikkelsen is first to speak. He opens for 380,000, a bet that is reraised to 680,000 by Pieter de Korver from the blinds. Mikkelsen grabs a few chips off his stack and drops them into the pot. He still seems frustrated.

On the flop of {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {7-Spades}, de Korver comes again with a bet of 430,000. Mikkelsen isn't deterred; he calls to see the {9-Diamonds} fall on the turn. De Korver moves forward in his chair and bets 1,040,000. Mikkelsen looks de Korver's stack up and down and asks for a count. The stacks are almost even. Armed with that knowledge, Mikkelsen moves all in. Snap-call from de Korver!

Mikkelsen: {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades}
de Korver: {6-Clubs} {6-Spades}

Whoops. Maybe it was frustration, but that's a huge gaffe by Mikkelsen. He's drawing dead against de Korver's full house and has to ship almost his whole stack across the table after the {A-Spades} river. Mikkelsen is left with just 360,000, the same amount that de Korver had at one time at this final table.
