Morozov Morose

Patrick Wymann has doubled up, his pocket aces holding up against Alexander Morozov's pocket tens to boost his stack to around 200,000. Morozov down to just 55,000.

By the Numbers

The 935 players who entered the PokerStars.com EPT Monte Carlo have generated a record-setting prize pool of €9,350,000! Eighty-eight players have already earned a spot in the money, with the bottom payout level being worth an even €20,000. The lucky man or woman who manages to outlast the other 934 will take home a whopping €2,300,000 for a week's work, not to mention the priceless Grand Final trophy. Here's how the full prize pool breaks down:

Still More Eliminations

The previously very lucky Mr. Vitaliy Lunkin was not so lucky after all. He put all of his chips at risk with pocket sevens and ran smack into the pocket jacks of Annette Obrestad. Lunkin never improved. He's busto.

A very short Sam Chartier needed to make a move. He pushed {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} from the button and was called by Daniel Penz from the big blind, who showed down {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades}. Chartier never improved and therefore joined an ever-growing queue of players at the payout cage.

Greco Joins the Qu

Greco -  :(
Greco - :(
Michael Greco was down to a mere 32,000 when he moved all in from the cutoff and got called by Eric Qu on the button.

Greco: {Q-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}
Qu: {8-Spades} {8-Hearts}

Board: an utterly queenless (though Greco kept asking the poker gods for one) {10-Spades} {6-Spades} {6-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts}

Also, seen wandering over to a floor man and handing him his ID card, Asa Smith - therefore presumed busted.

The Demise of Maugenest

Julien Maugenest was actually down to just 30,000, the same amount they all started with back on Day 1, when he got his chips in. The reason for that was that a few hands earlier he called a push from Leonardo Patacconi, and lost the coinflip to an ace on the river.

Patacconi: {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts}
Maugenest: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}

Board: {2-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {6-Spades} {10-Hearts} {A-Hearts}

Recent Eliminations

[Removed:133] - out with {k-Clubs} {q-Clubs} against {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}, no queen to be found anywhere on the board.

Xavier Detournel - out to a carefully laid trap by Antonin Teisseire, who limped the small blind, then snap-called with pocket jacks when Detournel jammed the big blind with {A-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}, no ace to be found anywhere on the board.

Julien Maugenest - out after getting all in preflop with {Q-?} {9-?} and being called by Max Greenwood's pocket tens, no queen to be found anywhere on the board.

Liya Gerasimova - seen in line to get cash, no hand details available.
