Tulchinskiy Finishes Him Off

Stephen Chow is now bust as well. It all happened rather too quickly for us to wade through the crowds of railers who'd snuck into the tournament area, but it looked as though Mikhail Tulchinskiy did the deed just a few hands after doubling through Chow, and a gent in a suit was asking Chow to, "Please follow me." Presumably it was to give him his money, rather than for anything more sinister, though it rather sounded that way.

Eliminations and Double-Ups Abound

Johannes Strassmann
Johannes Strassmann
Pierre Sakr is out at the hand of Johannes Strassmann. Strassman's unimproved {A-Spades} {10-Spades} was enough to knock Sakr out after all the chips went in preflop.

Jason Somerville was in trouble after he pushed the button for about 70,000 and was called by Eric Mutrie. Somerville showed the powerhouse {7-Hearts} {5-Clubs} against Mutrie's {A-Clubs} {8-Spades}, but Somerville's two live cards connected with a board of {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {4-Spades} {5-Spades} {Q-Hearts} to give him a double-up to 155,000.

Anthony Venturini was also the recipient of a bad-beat double-up after running his kings into the pocket aces of an opponent (whose ID tag was missing). It was a king on the turn for Venturini. When the stacks were counted down, Venturini's 429,000 was doubled by his opponent, who was left with just 5,000 chips and busted on the next hand.

Chow Down on That

Mikhail Tulchinskiy stays in the game, doubling up after moving all in on a {10-Spades} {4-Hearts} {6-Spades} flop with {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs} and getting an instant call from young Brit Stephen Chow who held {Q-Spades} {7-Spades}.

No more spades on the {9-Clubs} turn or {5-Clubs} river, and Tulchinskiy remains in the running.

Danil-Yuk

Andrey Danilyuk is our latest casualty, shoving under the gun for mere shrapnel and getting a re-shove from Pieter De Korver and folds from everyone else. He was giggling as the board confirmed his demise.

Danilyuk: {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs}
De Korver: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

Board: {4-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}

Luca Vs. Ludo - Ludo Wins

As related to me by intrepid PokerNews High Rollers Reporter Djinn, Luca Pagano is now entirely busto after getting his chips in most reasonably with {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} against enormo-stack Ludovic Lacay's {A-?} {J-?} ... and getting absolutely smacked in the face by an ace on the river. Lacay now up to maybe 1,600,000.

Law of Physioc

Grayson Physioc has enjoyed a double up to around a million, his {A-?} {K-?} hitting the {Q-?} {K-?} {3-?} {5-?} {Q-?} board and leaving Daniel Zink's pocket eights out in the cold.

Palovic's Ninja Skills No Match for Spijkers

Dag Palovic - busto
Dag Palovic - busto
Dag Palovic was all smiles during the preflop action of his final hand of the tournament. He even stopped Boris Becker, walking by the table, and asked for a photo (Becker was happy to oblige).

"It's a good one," Palovic told Becker as he showed him the photo. It was at that moment that Palovic's 85,000-chip reraise from the small blind was re-reraised to 200,000 by big blind Gijsbertus Spijkers. Once the original raiser, Mikhail Tulchinskiy, folded, Palovic counted out the chips necessary to call. He slid them forward with a strong, "I call."

The flop was {5-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {2-Spades} and Palovic quickly moved all in.

"How much do you have?" Spijkers asked. Palovic made no motion or response, causing the dealer to countdown his neat stacks of five chips each. She estimated it was about 300,000. Upon hearing that, Spijkers quickly called.

Palovic showed down {10-Spades} {10-Hearts} and was flabbergasted to see Spijkers turn over {K-Spades} {J-Spades}. "King-jack?" Palovic gasped. Spijkers didn't say anything, choosing instead to watch the dealer burn and turn the {Q-Diamonds} turn and {A-Spades} river. He clapped his hands and pumped the air with a fist.

A stunned Palovic was led away from the table by tournament staff to collect his winnings.
