Grand Larssony

Dragan Galic raised from the button, and Larsgreger Larsson pushed from the big blind. The two players had a pleasant chat about Croatia and Sweden while Galic made his decision, which was eventually a call.

Galic: {Q-Hearts} {10-Clubs}
Larsson: {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

"Wow, you're strong," said Galic, unnecessarily.

Board: {8-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {2-Hearts}

Larsson thought he'd won and sat back down, but, "Flush!" proclaimed Galic. "Sorry man," he said to a shellshocked Larsson, "I really think you bluff me."

The unstoppable Galic, who'd previously dropped a few chips, is back up to 1,250,000.

After Alexia Portal's recent elimination with {A-?} {Q-?} against pocket nines, no improvement, we have just one woman left in the field for today.

She is Ms. Kati Jerney of Hungary, and is currently on a comfortable 190,000.

Constant Accumulation of Chips

We came to Constant Rijkenberg's table in time to see him raise to 120,000 on a flop of {8-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {5-Hearts} after his sole opponent, Pietro Marras, opened for 20,000. Marras had about 150,000 behind his initial bet.

"If I fold, will you show?" Marras asked. Rijkenberg shook his head no. Marras tanked until the last possible moment (a clock was called) before moving all in. Rijkenberg quickly called.

Marras: {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}
Rijkenberg: {8-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}

"Hold one time please," Rijkenberg asked no one in particular. The turn and river came running fours to give him the pot and send Marras home early.

Rijkenberg has constructed a giant pyramid out of all of his chips, making it impossible to get an accurate count.

Brikker Cemented

Brikker - Estonian
Brikker - Estonian
Estonian hopes for an EPT victory are dead in the water after Priit Brikker became our latest casualty. He got it in well ahead, holding {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} against Michael Tureniec's {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, but a cruel nine on the flop sent him hurtling to the rail.

Board: {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}

The fortunate Tureniec, however, is up to 330,000.

Eldar and Better

David Eldar is now up to around 400,000. Turns out that not long after that second double up, he lost 100,000 doubling up another player with pocket nines crushed by, er, {J-?} {6-?}.

Zappietro Zapped

Fabio Zappietro, not long ago on almost 400,000 in chips, is busto.

He reraised all in to a raise from Matias Knaapinen, and after a considerable dwell, Knaapinen called.

"Nothing," announced Zappietro, turning over {Q-Clubs} {J-Hearts}, so he must have been delighted to discover that he was coinflipping against Knaapinen's {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Nevertheless:

Board: {6-Clubs} {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}

Waking a Sleeping Dragan

Dragan Galic is burninating the short stacks.
Dragan Galic is burninating the short stacks.
Chip leader Dragan Galic started the day out slowly, but he's come on strong in the last half hour. He busted a short stack, Johannes Per Soderstrom, who was all in preflop with {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} against Galic's pocket fives. Soderstrom never improved -- presto was goot!

A short time later, a raising war erupted between Galic and Samuel Lindberg. They traded raises back and forth until Lindberg was all in with pocket kings. Galic grinned and turned over {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}.

"You guys think I'm aggressive," said Galic. "Do you see my cards?"

The board ran out {8-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {8-Clubs} {Q-Spades} to send Lindberg to the payout table. By the time Galic was finished stacking all of his chips, he was well over 1 million.
