Break Time #1

Well that's it for registration, folks. We should know the official numbers shortly; until then, please enjoy 15 minutes of milling about in the Hyatt hallway or in front of your computer, depending on where you are.

By the Grace of God

Now in hallway
Now in hallway
No cigar this time for affable New Zealander Richard Grace as he was spotted in the hallway texting news of his demise to loved ones back home in (unexpectedly) London.

Turns out he was already down to half his starting stack when he found queens and furthermore was blessed with a raggy flop and a ten on the turn - but his opponent was holding pocket kings and duly took the rest of Grace's chips and sent him to the rail.

No Nicking Pagano's Blinds

Miguel Neves raised to 500 in mid position and the gent in the small blind flat-called. Luca Pagano in the big blind made it 1,625 to go, both players called, and they saw a flop.

Flop: {A-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {4-Spades}

The small blind and Pagno checked to Neves, who bet 2,125. Mr. Small Blind gave it up but Pagano called and they went heads up to the turn.

Turn: {7-Diamonds}

This time both players checked it and they got to see the river for free.

River: {5-Diamonds}

Pagano now bet out 3,500 and Neves tanked up for a while before folding, a forlorn expression on his face. Pagano's face gave nothing away as he raked in the pot.

Levi Looking Pretty

Nicolas Levi is wearing a big jacket, but it's not quite enough to hide what's underneath. Nice try, buddy. Levi made a last-longer prop bet with Alexia Portal in Deauville. If he won, he got to choose a crazy hat for her to wear today. If she won, she earned the right to pick his shirt. Though Levi was the chip leader for in Deauville for awhile, he managed to bust before Portal. She finished in 10th place, earning $73,000 and the right to embarrass Levi. Well played, Alexia.
