Not Yet, But Soon

Gorodetskiy: Russian
Gorodetskiy: Russian
The tournament are is absolutely full of players and press swapping war stories, but so far they're not playing as there is still some dispute over the stacks.

The best commentary came from Ilya Gorodetskiy. "Eh, I am from Russia. We had a civil war in the streets not long ago. Did I tell you that I was the victim of one of the biggest armed robberies ever in Moscow a few years ago...?"

Super Sat Suspended

By the way, the super-sat to EPT Monte Carlo which was scheduled to start at 9pm tonight has been cancelled. Anyone hoping to play that is just going to have to hit the online tables or get themselves to Monte the old-fashioned way.

Good Luck with That...

The players are back in the tournament area now, attempting to figure out how many chips they're meant to have under the supervision of TD Thomas Kremser. We have no idea how long that's going to take, but hopefully it won't be too long.

Still on Standby

The main event was scheduled to restart now, but three main event players were spotted at the bar just now ordering a round and one of the tables is still a mess. We'll let you know what's going on when we do.

...Or Not

TD Thomas Kremser just now announced that the ladies' event and the €1,000 NLH have been cancelled. It appears that all the short stacks unregistered and it was deemed unfair to continue. There's no word on what happens for the people already busted.

Business as Usual

All the side events have now restarted. Any players in the ladies' event and the €1k NLH who do not want to continue have been offered their buy-ins back if they wish to unregister.

The main event will be starting up again in 15 minutes or so.

Official Statement

PokerStars have issued a press release concerning the current hiatus in action:

"An armed robbery by 5-6 men took place today at EPT Berlin. Nobody was seriously injured. We hope to restart all events at 4pm local time. A police investigation is underway. If you have video footage or photographs that could help the police, please contact the EPT organizers as soon as possible."
